the battery pack switches worked so well that used a simelar one in the feedthrough
in the first on on the battery pack i changed the contact point to a short piece of spring which adjusts it selv. about 2 turns.
not even one missfire in 3 month !!
the second one is my feedthrough ..simelar ..used nylon stock for the parts.
the end tip is copper foil cleened and fluxed wrapped around to build up to force a small piece of spring onto it and soldered
it all at once .the steel wire is plated but dont know w what ..easy to solder ! i think they are used to tye orchids to .
the main spring is held back with a small washer soldered on.also easy to move for more pretension ....feel of switch
just push spring back and reheat to move the washer a bit.
the springs are from a ballpoint pen.
the upper and lower parts of the boxes are held together with pins and a magnet in one and used popsical sticks on lower halv in the other on to ceep the 2 parts aligned . used a disksander to shape them.
english is my second language and my spelling sucks .....but my mods vape !!!
have fun rolf 07-1-P1010999.jpg

Nice work! I like how you incorporated a battery divider to keep them in place, the slider switch is slick too. I have been wanting to build a wood mod myself but don't have a wood planer. Everything I want to build would require 1/8" and 1/4" wood. Thanks for posting.
I buy 1/4" & 1/8" panels of exotic hardwoods at a local woodcraft store. I don't own a planer either lol.

OP, those switches really look nice. Keep up the good work! I'm considering constructing a mechanical switch, soon, myself. Thanks for the inspiration!

the wood came from a wood speciality store and is 1/4 thick by 4 inshes wide 4 feet long used for another project.
they also had some scraps of cherry for the ends.just ripped 1/4 by 1/4 edge glued to the right wids panel.
made one piece a little more than twice as long ...than cut in halv to give you the top and bottom.
the channel is not only to a battery divider but is needed to have room for the swich.
