I have tried lots of techniques to avoid inhaling but one I am doing has me a little baffled, because I'm not sure if vapor is getting into my lungs,(which is something I really want to avoid). The technique is very simple you just swallow once you have inhaled the vapor to your mouth, you get a lot more of a throat hit, more so than when you just keep it in your mouth, then exhale. Has anyone else tried this? if so does vapor make its way to the lungs?.

If I have created something, which I have probably not...i'll call it the DT....i'll let you figure out what it means.

curious about this one as I just want to enjoy the hit as well as the flavour.

look forward to your replies:vapor::toast:

It's also possible that if it's actually making it all the way to your stomach, your stomach lining is absorbing it.

I'm not sure how DeCastro thinks it would get to your lungs without inhaling it... perhaps a crash course in biology would help

That was my thought. You're swallowing at least some of the vapor. Do you ever burp vapor back up? Nicotine is rough on the stomach lining too, do you get heartburn or anything?

I find that drawing using the muscles in my throat I can draw longer into my mouth without inhaling. Don't draw with your cheeks or like you are inhaling normally.

This, draw slowly with your throat and just be mindful. Eventually it will become a habit.

Just wondering why one would vape and not inhale? That's like drinking and not swallowing. Just not understanding the reason of avoiding a hit, and why you wouldn't want to inhale, that's most of the pleasure in vaping IMHO

Some people don't like the feeling it gives them in their lungs. Some report a feeling of heaviness.

You actually absorb more nicotine from the throat, mouth and nasal passages when vaping, than you do through the lungs.

You can still get a nic fix without inhaling.

BUT, saying that, I am of the lung inhale type. I mostly draw into my mouth and then inhale - sometimes I will even do a direct lung pull from my device.

As to the OP's original point, I met people that used to smoke cigarettes like that, just a swallow and then breathe out. I think you will get the nicotine from the draw, but to me, swallowing when I don't need to swallow is kind of awkward. Just my personal opinion.

Ever watched people taste wine, and then spit it out?

Yeah... I don't get it either.

I normally inhale after drawing into my mouth. I tried your method and after a few attempts I was able to do it without inhaling any into my lungs, so in my opinion it is possible to do this. I think only you know if you are being successful at it. Best of luck with it!

I'm always game to try anything to give me better throat hit, BUT how in the world do you swallow it???
I tried several times, and all that happened was vapor from my nose. I just couldn't get my mouth/throat to swallow the vapor. Maybe I've bad mouth-throat coordination?
As long as it works for you, thumbs up.

you don't actually swallow the vapor, you just swallow like you do when you have excess saliva in you mouth, you hold it in you mouth while holding your breath and just swallow, it just gives you a little throat hit and you get lots of flavor. then exhale.
