just throwing this out there, whether cells are in series or parallel, their combined energy or capacity in Watt hours remain the same. as for some mods being in parallel or series, when the cells are ran in series, it's cheaper/easier for a board manufacturer to make a buck only board (a board only capable of delivering a voltage less than or equal to the input). also, buck conversion tends to be more efficient than boost conversion. there's a bunch of variables that come into play when determining which mod will give you longer run time with any given setup.:)

I tested a vtc mini and a cuboid which have the same board. The puff times were identical. I haven't noticed anyone else do a similar test with other devices. If that happened it might clarify things. My judgement at the moment is the only reason to use a series mod is when you are vaping higher than perhaps 60 watts. I never go above 30 max watts in temp control.

The following exactly matches my experiment with the cuboid and vtc mini. I don't understand why series and parallel don't perform the same but...
Battery School | Batteriesnorthwest.com | What is the difference between series battery connections and parallel battery connections and how do they increase battery capacity and voltage?
"In the SERIES CONNECTION, batteries of like voltage and Amp-Hr capacity are connected to increase the Voltage of the battery bank. The positive terminal of the first battery is connected to the negative terminal of the second battery and so on, until the desired voltage is reached. The final Voltage is the sum of all the battery voltages added together while the final Amp-Hr, Cranking Performance and Reserve Capacity remain unchanged."

" In PARALLEL CONNECTION, batteries of like voltages and capacities are connected to increase the capacity of the battery bank. The positive terminals of all batteries are connected together, or to a common conductor, and all negative terminals are connected in the same manner. The final voltage remains unchanged while the capacity of the bank is the sum of the capacities of the individual batteries of this connection. Amp-Hrs, Cranking Performance and Reserve Capacity increases while Voltage does not."
You gotta remember that our mods buck and/or boost the available voltage. The higher capacity and amps available in a parallel setups is compensated by the higher voltage in series setups. To calculate the amp draw (assume 30w and a 3v cutoff).

Series:
30w / 6v = 5 amps, per battery

Parallel:
30w /3v = 10 amps, divided between the batteries

As you can see, the amp draw per battery is identical, and therefore battery runtime will be as well.

Same chip perhaps, definitely not the same board. Though there are most certainly differences in the chips as well. The Joyetech/Eleaf/Wismec mods use very similar hardware it seems, but hardly identical. When we talk about "same board/chip" that's what we mean, and the firmware as well. A single-battery vs a dual-battery device can't really be compared directly like that. Too many variables to consider, and the math contradicts your notion of the series battery setup being the culprit.

often confusing, sometimes when someone sees the same screen being used from mod to mod by the same manufacturer they assume it's the same board, when sometimes it's not. they'll use the same oled display and screen layout but the board layout/configuration/function can be very different. for ex. the VTC mini has buck boost, whereas the cuboid has buck only (efficiencies of either board are unknown to me but seems @sofarsogood found his cuboid to be wildly inefficient when compared to his VTC mini). evolv use the same exact screen and display layout for every board that uses the .91" oled but obviously the DNA 60 is a completely different board from the DNA 200.
i won't crap this thread up anymore with non rx 300 stuff, sorry.

Vapers usually buy a multi cell mod wired in series because it's required for higher watts than one cell delivers. Others vape at lower watts where one cell would do but want to consider a 2 cell mod for more endurance. My test at 30 watts persuaded me there is no point in getting a series mod unless you need the higher watts. There must be others here who have a single cell and dual series mods with puff timers where they could do the same test I did. I've also got a pico which now has a puff timer. It gets the same number of seconds from an LG HG2 as the VTC mini. I get the extra endurance I sometimes need from a Pico Mega with a single 26650 battery.

Watt hours, they're a fact. Two batteries have twice the capacity of a single battery, whether set up in series or parallel. Don't take your experience with the Evic vs Cuboid to apply for all mods out there.

If I didn't already have an RX200 in hand and an RX200S on the way I'd have to pick one of these up. Only other holdup for me would be the 4 good married battery sets (2×25R sets 2×30Q sets). Have the 30Q just opened and charging now.

Well I just bought one anyways and have 4 HG2 batteries to keep married for it on the way too. I'm addicted to vape supplies

Ahhhh, yeah I got one of those as well lol

They should have included the charge bank adapter...not that I'd use it, unless absolutely necessary.
