Hi first post here. Hello everyone.
My friend gave me his old Rxmini. It was working great for a few days, then all of a sudden seems to have bricked itself. I've connected to pc to try update firmware but the pc doesn't recognize its connected at all. I've tried pressing seemingly all combinations of buttons to no avail.
Any info or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome,
Plug it into your phone charger.
The USB cable may be the problem, the device should register/indicate when it is connected/charging.
If problems persist, contact the gift giver for advice.

Cheers

I don't own one either but I looked it up. It has an integrated battery. You said it was old so maybe the battery is used up.
This is quite possible. All rechargable batteries have a cycle life of 200 - 300 charges, at which time they begin to lose their ability to hold a charge. If that battery device has been in regular use for over a year then the battery could well be dead.

That's just one of the reasons I don't like mods that use an internal (nonremovable) battery. Once that battery is dead, so is the mod. If you use a mod that uses external 18650 batteries, when the batteries loose their effectiveness you simply buy new batteries for $5 - $8 each and continue to use the same mod.

It sounds fairly dead to me, given what is happening. I would show it to the gift giver and also like be frank, be like "I don't mind if you were having ongoing issues with this mod, but it would help me to know if you WERE, like, because I sure would like to know if it's the mod, or if *I* was was doing something."

It is possible you were doing something, it is also possible you got given a mod with an entirely almost used up internal battery and maybe you were vaping it at higher wattage than your friend, or maybe the mod was like, "YOU WANT to give me away like SO MUCH trash, fine, and just died on you out of spite, as it were or maybe the planets all came together wrong.

If you like vaping, well, this is one reason why some folks prefer external batteries although you should like, know some facts about external batteries and using them safely is important and here's some blog info for like, if you decide to go that route with you self bought mod although there are some folks who find internal mods convenient too.

Thanks for all your advice. I'm going to conclude that it is dead. I'm. Thinking of getting the full sized rx 200. Would you recommend that mod or what would you recommend?
D,
What features make the RX200 attractive?
How long did you smoke and how many per day?
What topper(s) are you using?
Where are you located?
What is your budget?

Cheers

I've been smoking for about 10 years probably smoked at least 10 a day. Have been vaping now for 2 months with an ego aio and feel it's time to upgrade. My friend has a rx200 and it seems like a solid rig. I've heard good things a bit dna aswell tho. Basically budget doesn't matter happy to spend $200 if it's a good set up. Also a recommendation for a good rda would be appreciated.

Also like the battery life....
What kind of battery life does your friend get with his RX200? I used one a couple of years ago and I was disappointed with the battery life. I got a day's use with three Samsung 30Q 3000mah batteries, I expected much better than that with a 3 battery mod. Only vaped it at 30 watts. Paint finish flaked off within a few months. After using it for a year, the 510 connector became wonky, a common issue with the RX200. Currently retired.

I'm currently using a JAC Vapor series B DNA75W and love it. Best mod I've ever owned after owning a dozen. It's extremely comfortable in the hand (part box mod, part tube mod) and pocket friendly. It's great with battery life, too. A single Samsung 30Q 3000mah battery lasts me all day. Mod available only through the manufacturer online for 80 EU.
