Wire Gauge for 0.5 ohms Coil

hi guys, im buying some kanthal to start building some coils but i found out to many gauges and didnt know which one to order... any help would be really appreciated

depends alot on preference and what rda/rta you're using personally i like 26ga sometime 28 ga & 24 ga depends on what i building .

Assuming genuine Sandvik Kanthal A-1 wire from a known reliable source, like Temco for example...

• At 0.05Ω net resistance, for dual parallel coils - IMO - 28 and 27.
  
• 26 and thicker will run too cold, 29 and thinner too hot.
• Single coils at 0.5Ω - IMO - 24 and 23 gauge.

what rta or rda are planing on using ? and that's what i prefer,strictly my choice on the 26

I would go with 27, you'll have an easy time building low-ohm coils, and higher ohm coils as well.
If you're dead set on having a .5 ohm build, consider ribbon wire.
