there wouldn't be much of a problem except for maybe a slightly dulled flavor

I was about to make a post on this same topic. I have an itaste MVP and just got a rebuildable dripped with the 2 negative 1 positive post setup (It's called mutation x). Anyways, I've been using 28 g kanthal and trying to build dual coils and keep getting less than 1 ohm, which will not fire with my itaste. Could someone share pics, video, explain how to properly do a single coil? Or, if possible, a dual coil that would work in a device such as mine?

Stick to single coils with your device limitations.
10wraps around a 1/16th bit will get you around 1.3-1.4ohm if you want higher add a couple wraps.

ok sounds good, just need to figure out a good way to lay this cotton

Thread the cotton through. I did in my experience a cotton bed is only useful with coils smaller than 1/16th
Plus with a max of 12w it will wick fast enough threading it through

Ok, I took your advice on the 1/16 drill bit. I had a 1.4 mm screwdriver and used that. 1/16 is about 1.6 mm so, close enough. Works pretty good. I used the 10 wraps and got 1.1 ohms. Here's my question, could I make two coils, using 4 wraps, and get the same result? I am thinking if I make 2 coils with 5 wraps it would end up being sub ohm due to the little bit of wire needed to reach each terminal

What he said.
Dual coil you would need two 2.2ohm coils and unless your using 30-32g is just two much wire for the mvp IMO
Also i use a 1.4mm screw diver too lol

Excellent advice. My single coil is "chucking vapor" right now. Thanks all. The flavor could be better though, does that mean the coil should be raised higher or lowered? How will this affect the temperature of the vape?

Well it depends on build and rda
But in my experience air under coils get more heat and throat hit. Above coil less heat less throat hit, and smack dab in the middle of coil best of both worlds. Of course this is my opinion others may like it setup differently this vape beast is very subjective lol

While on the topic: I've just gotten into RDAs, so thinking of using 28g instead of the 30g I use in my Protanks. The only thing is, I need around 14 wraps of 28g to get what I want, (2ohm), rather than the 10 wraps of 30g.

Would this be a problem in any way? Sure the 30g would take longer to heat up, but its larger area would surely give a better vape.

Is this right?

Depends how what device you running it on 12-15w vv/vw or mech use the thinner 30g, 30+w device go for the 28.
The extra wire mass with 28g would be hard for a 12-15w device to heat good and to high an ohm for a mech IMO
