Hi everyone :) I just joined this group today, and I have a question for you all...

I have been purchasing (and enjoying) my boulder rock pen since my Vladdin pods were discontinued (siiiigh)...but it seems that with at least half of the pods I fill, I get a burnt taste from them...with what looks like condensation where the coil is...does this happen to anyone else, and has anyone figured out why this happens or a solution? I know these are not very expensive, but still...its annoying!! Any help would be welcome!

Thanks so much :) IMG_0981.JPG

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Try...
  • Not filling the pod more than 85-90% of the way. Leave some headspace.
  • After you fill the pod, take a few drags on the pod before you place the pod onto the battery (this should suck some juice into the coil head and help saturate the cotton wick better than just sitting and waiting).
DISCLAIMER: I do not own this pod system. These recommendations are from information I got after reading other threads from similar pod systems over the past year.

I will get a "burnt" tasting hit every once in a while from mine as well. You can see in this video a reviewer testing a new unit complaining of a "burnt" hit at 4:30 in the video. I have had a love/hate relationship with this device since I got it. When it works it's great, I also get a lot of "blank" hits as well. You can try to clean/replace the cartridge, not much else peace

I'm not familiar with that device. No offense, but consider just getting something better (I understand being on a low budget but then a device that doesn't work well isn't really saving money) If you can find one, the Caliburn G is very popular. Several others too. There is a forum just for pod devices here:

    Ello.

I'm not sure what I'm looking at, but what is your current budget? There are several inexpensive and reliable pod systems currently available. I'd say the frustration isn't worth the cost, but I understand if you're being stubborn. I am as well, lol.

    Welcome to ECF.
