Good old chicago, lol. Sounds like you are on the northside somewhere. I have yet to see a vaper around here, I usually get strange looks when people see me with my PV. If I were an employee of CPK, or any restaurant for that matter, I would tell you the same thing, especially if I thought my minimum wage job was on the line by allowing you to vape. People generally dont like something they dont know about, and although ecigs are catching on, alot of people still dont know about them. It looks like smoke, and thats enough for most. Frustrating? yes, understandable? yes. And what do we really know about vaping indoors? The effects of vaping from a health perspective is an unknown. You can show me all the studies you want, nobody will know for quite a while, and like it or not, we are all test dummies. I choose to vape because my chances of dying from lung cancer, or any other smoking related disease, is HOPEFULLY significantly less. Do you have kids? Do/would you vape in the house with them? I dont, because tomorrow, there may be a new study, which can say, anything.

This was in Lake County, but Chicago itself is very progressive. I don't know of anywhere else in Illinois that bans analog smoking on beaches but Chicago.

I don't have kids, but I have vaped in front of other people's children before. I was actually sitting next to a boy who looked to be about 7 or 8 years old. His father, who was also there, saw me vaping and had no problem at all with it. It was in a Buffalo Wild Wings. The only person who said anything was a waiter who, upon realizing that I was vaping (not smoking), immediately excused himself.

I'm very conservative, but I think FOX News is a joke. I watch them for entertainment purposes only. I get most of my news from the Internet or the local newspaper.

I know right!?

I was a big Limbaugh fan when I was younger but when you start to really listen to what he said I could see that he was more dedicated to the (R) as opposed to conservatism.

Same goes for FOX.

One thing that I love about Rush though is that he's a rebellious vaper. Here's a link to a story about him vaping in an outdoor bar and how he reacted to customer complaints.

even though i'm replying to this thread late, i have a point i would like to add. the chemical composition of the vapor emitted from a pv is known. it's something like 98% water. it is vaped pg/vg, but it is still mostly water. how is water mist going to magically be detrimental to the health of those exposed to it second hand?

All up in your grill..
I do it EVERYWHERE I go period. No exceptions. If I think they are going to give me a hard time about it I stealth vape. I defy anyone to notice I am vaping if I don't want them too. It is easier to ask forgiveness then permission and if I wanted their opinions on the subject I'd take the time to educate them. But who wants to work during dinner?

You are entitled to your opinion, but I think if you studied enough your opinion would change.
There is almost a 100% chance that what we exhale, in the quantities we exhale, is not harmful to any living creature.

In fact, I'd be willing to bet a large sum of money that the vapor we exhale is more likely to be GOOD for other's to breathe.

I am a hospice volunteer, and among other rules, one is not wearing perfume or scented body lotion on visits in case someone has an allergic on unpleasant reaction. Now, I think this is simply stupid. .

Maybe a stupid rule to you but the effect of a lot of those scents to some people are life threatening. I had an older friend that finally had to quit going out of her home because of some of the scents that folks wear. I'm not that bad yet but lots of the scents that folks think smell so good actually take my breath away. I have to get away from it quickly or I will pass out. My husband gave up his after shave because I couldn't breath around him. I could honestly say, he took my breath away. :p

I have to say that I think it was too many years using all the common household cleaners that caused it in the first place. Well, that and 45+ years of smoking. I am hoping that now that I no longer smoke this will become a non issue. Vape on friends but do it nicely.
