It is a device that is made to open the nitrogen cartridges. They look just like CO2 cartridges for BB guns. We used to use them in college. You wrap a balloon around the end, "crack" open the cartridge by screwing the cracker together, and oila! Just like the balloons at the Grateful Dead shows - lol!

Wa wa wa wa wa wa wa....

You can still find plastic whipit crackers in lots of stores in NYC but I have not even seen a metal one since I was following the GD.

It looks like you preserved the integrity of the cracker. the bottom part looks like the side the balloon would go on. So can you take the battery out and still use it as a cracker?

DW
no ..well maybe , but i removed the pin that opens the whippet, so not this one. ill bet you could tho

I was rummaging through some things the other day, and had the same realization as you. The cracker I found is exactly the same as the one you show in the vid (I think i have a brass one somewhere too).

I love the button placement, and the angled mouthpiece! any plans for a how-to?

PS. One may find crackers at the adult video store. the same place you'd go for snuff bullets, or pocket scales.
