I've finished my organic cotton that comes with the subtank mini. After speaking with my local vape shop vendor, he told me uses organic cotton balls sold in a big bag and can be found at an organic grocery store. I'm not sure what country it's from but I'm thinking about buying this cotton or the sandwiched squared organic Japanese cotton that can be bought on Amazon. Which cotton would you recommend for wicking coils? Do they both work the same or is one better than the other? Where else can I buy organic cotton?

Hi all, first time post on ECF. I find Cotton Bacon the best for my wick. Tried all sorts of other cotton but this I feel gives me the best taste. Specially made for vamping and easily found on Google. I packs lasts for ages too and no need to boil before use

Yeah, I used cotton bacon when it first came around in idaho. Its literally just medical-grade cotton, theres nothing special about it and japanese cotton is superior in almost every way (neat square-ness, flavor, wicking ability). Japanese cotton is definitely better than cotton bacon, but both are decent wicking cottons.
Organic cotton balls are dead though, I tried wicking with one lately (after a year of not using cotton balls) and it was the worst thing ever, absolutely horrible.
So yeah, cotton balls suck cotton balls, cotton bacon is good, and japanese organic cotton pads are better.
Hemp wick is also worth a try, its got an earthy, planty taste to it and looks like tangled fuzz but if you manage to wick decently with it, it sucks in juice like madness

I know this is a dirt ... old post but I am curious to if there is anything different from people selling organic cotton on ebay to the ones people sell in stores..

I am wondering cause you know if its to good to be true it probably is.. I don't wanna burn money on something I am and will not use..

If I were you I would stay away from ebay sellers and vape shops selling you "vape pads" for 5 bucks for 2 or 3 cotton pads. Just go to the Sephora make up store in your nearest mall and buy a package of 60 pads for like 10 bucks. You can also get them online at make up supply stores for about the same price.

Theyre Ko Gen Do cotton pads. The vape shops and ebay sellers are totally ripping people off!

To me Ko Gen Do is the best wicking material out there right now I would give it a shot!

I always keep a bag of cotton bacon on hand, but i did get some Japanese organic cotton from Amazon about 2 months ago called Puffs. 200 square pieces for $7, and it works a treat. I probably still have about 160 squares left, and that's only because I gave some friends a few pieces to try out and tell me what their thoughts were. I'm completely satisfied with it and I'm pretty sure it's gonna last me a long time. I might just grab another bag before they hike up the price because of Vape popularity, lol...

I have. I still have a Zip Loc freezer bag full of it! I loved it but as soon as I tried my first KGD wick I put it away and havent touched it since! I'll use it every now and then, like when I'm rewicking my old Protank coils. But I wick everything now with KGD!
