I ordered a few clones and many say toss the o rings and get authentic to prevent bad taste and/or leaks.
Since tanks are in metric I'm guessing all o rings are metric.
Do I want BN70 or NBR or are these the same?
I've found a few sites that sell nothing but o rings but finding the right sizes might be a PITA.
Are the size numbers or a cross reference numbers besides the sizes of outer dia x inner dia?
To prepare o rings I'm guessing just to soak in eliquid since it's what they'll end up being exposed too or is there something to soak or lube them in before or after replacement?

    That'll definitely help.
I'm not 100% sure what type of orings are needed but I keep seeing BUNA,NBR,and BN70 type for eliquid vaporers.
They have so far every size I need.I just was hoping they would put thier sizes in order. Most sizes are in order except the ones I need, but I found them.
They have them in quantities of 50 or more but if I don't have to spend hours looking for right sizes a few it's worth the extra cost,if shipping isn't ridiculously high.

From what Ive been told, NB70, NBR and Buna are all the same thing….they are made from a copolymer known as Nitrile Rubber that has excellent mechanical properties as well as resistance to lubricants and friction from surface tension (constant loosening and tightening of attys, for example) .

I usually ask for NB70 or Nitrile…..the shop near me did not know what Buna was.

The number 70 is an indicator hardness…Ive seen ones ranging from 50-90…but 70 is more than enough.

There is also a higher grade called Viton O-rings (more expensive)….these are a bit more rigid than NB70 in their texture and seem more resilient. I use these in critical sealing applications only….I wouldn't use them on a drip tip or a chimney top…I do use them in places where a seal can be critical…like the bottom JFC ring in a Kayfun….or a chimney cover of a Hurricane….where liquid does sometimes tend to leak past.

BTW o-rings might just be the most profitable thing to sell…I am sure they a couple of cents each to make….the markups are just insane.

It's a high tech business with lots of material options. Once you know all the sizes you need for your mod it's fairly cheap to buy a lifetime supply.

Most o-rings wear out or get twisted if they aren't lubricated with a drop of juice during wick/coil changes. I've only used a few of the ones I ordered in 10 packs for Kayfuns a couple of years ago. Shipping is cheap even for a bagful of sizes.

That, and it's easier to order them than it is to drive to Home Depot, Ace Hardware, and Lowes looking for the right sizes. :)

I use the Buna-70. It is of average composition and I figure it will closely replicate what the topper designer uses.

Most cross-sections are 1.0 or 1.5mm. it is the interior diameter that changes. Since many toppers are 22mm I focused in that zone. Oh, drip tips are usually 5-5.5mm. There are also smaller toppers in the 18-19mm area. I just bought about 5-10 of each.

In the RTA sub-forum, people sometimes post needed sizes.

    Hope helps
