Are you talking about the nut that holds the connector in the mod?If so,that could vary quite a bit depending on mod.I have some that are 10mm,12mm,etc.
If your talking about the internal thread size of the connector, and the threads on the bottom of the atty, then here's a thing from google explaining the 510 designation and size.

510 literally means 10 threads at 0.5 mm per thread. The diameter is 7mm. If you were to create this thread yourself, it would use an M7 x 0.5 tap.

So it is 7mm diameter (not 5mm)? This is very confusing! Also "standard" threads are in "threads per inch"... how does this translate to metric? I just need some nuts that will fit on the 510 of my atomizer.

Ok yeah,if your looking for them to thread on the atomizer look for M7 x 0.5,it's a 7mm with a .5 thread pitch.

So going by what the hardware store lists, it would be "7-05"?
That may be how they are listed,i haven't actually looked for that size before,so not sure.If you have a Zettler or Ace hardware near you,or any hardware store that has the nuts open in bins, you could take an atty with you to make sure you get the right size before buying them.

Thanks... doesn't make any sense to me but now I know what to look for.
BTW, I need to use two of these nuts (on my atomizer) to lock together so I can adjust the airflow on my RTA (yes, it's that tight) Otherwise it unscrews the tank part... Major PITA! RTA is the Silverplay if anyone is curious (awesome vape, airflow and flavor but has issues including leaking... would not recommend to newbies)

Haha,i agree it doesn't make much sense.I knew it was a 7mm only because i had searched it up a few years ago when i couldn't find a "510" tap and die set,i searched for hours with no luck until i finally decided to google the thread size.
I have a Silverplay,i haven't used it in a very long time,but i don't remember having any issues when i did use it,or maybe i did and that's why i haven't touched it in so long,i can't remember haha.

It just a Metric Thread. So any decent Hardware Store or Home Center should have M7 x 0.5 Nuts. I'd go with Stainless Steel if they have the choice.

---

I have heard that "it's called 510 because it has 10 Threads that are 0.5 pitch". Not sure How that one got started?

But I was around when the Joyetech 510 was gaining Popularity over Most of the other things. And like everything e-Cig, people Shortened the name and started to refer to things that would fit it as having an "510 Thread".

Standard (American) fasteners are listed by the diameter followed by the threads per inch. I.e. 1/4-20 or 1/2-13. Metric threads are listed by the diameter followed by the distance between the threads. Most M7 fasteners are 1.0 mm pitch. A 510 is unusual at 0.5. Taps and dies are available in m7 x 0.5, but nuts might be difficult to get. I would try an industrial supply like McMaster-Carr.

I doubt it. M7 is no problem, but the 0.5mm thread pitch finer than the two standards for that size. A standard M7 coarse thread pitch is 1.0mm, while a standard M7 fine thread pitch is 0.75mm. See here:
ISO metric screw thread - Wikipedia

This means finding nuts with the correct thread pitch will be difficult. If I really wanted such a nut, I would take a slightly smaller one (maybe an SAE 1/4", which should be 6.35mm) and drill & tap it. M7 x 0.5mm taps can be found. Way back when, I bought a tap & die pair in that size "just in case" I ever needed them.

Maybe I'm spoiled by having an Ace Hardware nearby that carries Hillman Brand Fasteners?

But anytime I need something, be it Metric or SAE, I just walk in, pop them into one of those Small Yellow Envelops, and then scribble down How Much they are with the Pen on the Chain.

Actually, you might be Right...

Because a Quick search Didn't turn up much. Even at Hillman.

If getting a hold of M7x0.5 Nuts is going to be Hard, buying a Threaded Atomizer Building Stand might be a simpler alternative.

Something like this maybe?
