Tanks I rinse out with tap hot water
Atomizer heads
Soak in alcohol (Not Rubbing Alcohol) overnight
Rinse throughly with warm tap water forcing water into the wick area
Towel dry and blow out any water
Remove the gasket and stem
Remove the flavor wick(s)
Dry burn 6 watts, 5 seconds on/off. Repeat until coils are all turning red and wick is clean.
Blow the burned off crud away

Hold the flavor wick with tweezer while burning them with a lighter or torch until wick is clean.
Place the flavor wick back on top of the coil
Or
Place the flavor wick back on top of the coil
Dry burn as above to cleanup the flavor wick (4-5 cycles should do it)
Or
Replace the flavor wick with the material of your choice

Reinstall the stem and gasket.

When to clean
when the ejuice has darkened (caused by the vaporizing process)
when changing ejuice flavors
when the taste of the ejuice has changed (change the atomizer head first)

I clean any topper simply when I feel like a change of juice. 99.9% ISO Alcohol, Q Tips and paper towels are all I use. I buy the alcohol in 1 litre bottles and just fill a 10ml dropper bottle so I can drip it where I like. After a quick wipe, leave a couple of minutes for it all to evaporate and dry burn to be sure. I keep it as simple as possible, taking around 5 minutes for a wick change and clean.

As mentioned above! In my zipcase I keep a folded up piece of vaper towel (as Phil Busardo calls it) and I cut 6-7 qtips in half to make one headed mini qtips and keep them in a tiny zip-loc bag to spot clean 510 connectors and what not. When I need to take apart and clean my tanks I break them all down, put them in a big bowl and throw in an Efferdent tablet. I let it soak for an hour or so and rinse and reassemble! Easy Peasy!

I always have 5-6 tanks in my zip case at a time, so I don't "switch out" flavors, I just refill. But I do drain them and clean every weekend. It gives me something to fiddle with on Sunday.

I second the Efferdent idea. They are cheap and do a reasonable job. I use one, throw all the ProTank and other heads I have in a small bowl. Just enough hot water to cover the tanks. Let it set for an hour or two. Rinse repeatedly in hot water. Let dry overnight. Use clean coils to enjoy your vaping. I have noticed that fanning out the wicks will reduce the amount of any burn that is visible on the wick. I do this both before and after the Efferdent steep. Good luck, find what works for you.

Good info here and different strokes for different folks. Personally, I'm from the "if it works, don't fix it" school. If performance drops off, then I clean. If not, I leave it alone.

Well, call me lazy if you want, but this works for me, too. I'm also one who lets the performance be my guide.

P.S. This system works for mopping my kitchen floor, too, just so you know.:D
