Sorry to be gross but I've been using my PV since last Sat. (but still smoking analogs too, explained below) and starting a few hours after first few uses I noticed this slimy feeling in the back of my mouth and throat, like it was covered with corn syrup or something? Then in the mornning I had a disgusting phlegmy cough. Same thing next day. I cut way back on the PV a couple of days to see if it got better as I was fine before I started. It did. Then experimented again: The slime buildup only happens after vaping but it seems to be happening actually more than at the start, and so now I'm only vaping 1-2 times a day but it's getting worse and I've got one of those catchy coughs that keep on and on. This has got to be the PG, right? Is VG better? Does it come in prefilled cartomizers? Thanks -- I actually really really like vaping and I want it to work for me but I can't deal with this slime aspect.

I was worried about cotton mouth and some others even mentioned sores in the mouth. Eventually the cotton mouth went away, and I never got sores. But feel confident when the veterens here give you answers, listen, they are very helpful and knowledgeable. I imagine the slime feel will go away, and trying other suppliers may work also. Read what they put in the juice before you order, and if they dont have it listed most sites have a contact us section, do that contact them! ask what the juice is made of and you may be able to get a handle on what's making you slime.

I had a slight sore throat for several days that went away. I also recently tried a different supplier, same flavor and strength PG based that gave me a headache for a day. Unfortunately, these things have not been around long enough for us to have developed standards, so there is a lot of hits and misses as you discover what works for you. My guess is that it's your body's response to the juice and you might want to try some of the sample packs from a couple of different suppliers. I haven't tried the VG straight or PG/VG combinations yet, but they may help as well. I do know that it is important to drink more water when vaping, not coffee or tea only, that'll dry you out more, just a little water every now and then works wonders.

I've been using 100% VG, and haven't experienced the slime problem (I've only been at for a week, and still smoking analogs as well). I'm not a doctor, but would recommend that you order some VG and stop vaping while you await your new liquid. If the problem persists, it may not have anything to do with vaping. If the problem goes away and doesn't return when you get the VG, perhaps it was the PG that caused it. I've read that PG has a stronger throat hit and less vapor than VG, so it may also be contributing to your cough. I sure hope you get better before you get too discouraged.

I've also read that you should drink more water, which is a good idea for anyone.

Thanks, all of you! I'll try the VG carts, assuming they'll fit my KR808D which I like a lot. (BTW, I also actually like the Marlboro flavor that comes with that, I like everything about vaping except this problem. It sure was great to slip out of a party the other night and vape and realize I wasn't going to reek when I went back in! And I can vape in the house too, wow!) The cough is like when you inhale something that you're allergic to, constant tickling feeling and little hacky cough, and I haven't quit analogs since ths problem developed so fast. So body not clearing anything out yet. Drinking water constantly but slime feeling comes right back. I will quit vaping till VG arrives.

I have read that PG can cause a coating on the throat and tongue (it is an oily based substance), and that by drinking a glass of water after each vaping session can cut down on it.

Tbh Ive only found this with SOME all VG juices lol all PG and PG/VG mix I just find drying- extra liquid is a must though, drink at least half again what you used to, prefrably double. :)

I'm an extreme newbie (2months) and started with PG juice. I did feel a bit of residual after taste and a flemy residual at first but it wasn't bad. I have been vaping Raths VG waffle juice for a week now (omg-good!) and it seems the VG doesn't have that affect that the PG does. The throat hit with the VG is not as strong for me but the vapor is better than PG, and the taste is out of this world.

BTW,

Love dipskicks beetlejuice avatar-bababooie!

i think your issue is several fold...

i quit analogs literally over night with my e-cig...and the 1st week or so, it seemed by body was purging a lot of flem from my analog days...

after my body go used to vapor, the only real side effect i have is dry mouth if I vape too much...

I'd also recommend giving VG a shot - do a 70/30 mix and you should be good to go...and see if you can go a week with no analogs...the off and on could also be messing with your experience.

i'd also stay away from PEM as to my knowledge it's really oily and could be causing these problems...

lastly, which brand are you using? i'd stick with either halo or johnson creek for american suppliers.

or DEKANG or Totally Wicked E-Juice (which I think it repackaged DEKANG) for China manufacturers...

I prefer DEKANG juice over them all...

good luck!

i get the oil slick at the back of my throat too, especially when i go heavy on ethyl maltol juices (which i love). i'll even get that tickle cough when i eat candies with EM like Nips chocolate parfait candy.

gum will cut it, coke or oj. VG turns my nose into a faucet and a few other nasties, so i only add a few drops of VG to my juices to help with the dry nose.
