Something interesting that I just noticed about that can of general I bought at quiktrip the other day. There are no warning stickers on it like there are on the cans when I order online. Also they have a Virginia address and a telephone number listed on the back of the can.

That's odd about the cans, hitt.

I am funny at work. I find myself rushing constantly, like almost jogging. WTF? I am hourly after all, perhaps a quick walk would suffice? I MADE myself slow down a bit several times today, and within a few minutes, caught myself rushing again. AND the boss is out of town. I must just have a work ethic in overdrive! Gotta keep up with my boys (dogs) ;)

Hitt, I wonder how big the fine is for selling a tin of tobacco without a warning sticker is........ :D

Axl, you need to learn to relax at work.... LOL

What's wrong with Titus? I hope he get's well quickly.

I finished grinding my second razor today. Now for sharpening it. I'm going to take my time, no marathon sessions. It should be done by next weekend.

Interestingly enough, out bathroom floor started caving in yesterday. It looks to me like the subfloor rotted out from underneath the underlayment years ago (i.e. it was all dry under there)
On the upside, the furnace side of the central unit is directly beneath the bathroom so you can't get to it from below.

    ehem.....

I've got a sneaking suspicion that i'll be ripping out tons of 100 year old tile and concrete underlayment this weekend and putting in new subflooring and fixtures.Awesome.

Gutter, good luck with the bathroom project. I sure don't envy that. Hearing thing's like that make me glad I rent... LOL

Just got back from dinner. Rib eye for me, and shrimp for Sherry. We went a little early, but if we go to this restaurant any later there's no parking. It's Wisconsin's biggest, with not nearly enough parking.

Feeling for you Gutter. I was living with a girlfriend back in the 90s when we came home I noticed the LR floor had dropped about three inches. I went down into the basement and one of the joists had rotted out. It was an old farmhouse, somewhere around 200 years old owned by their family all those years. He and her brother jacked the floor up and replaced it in a matter of days. It had to be a 6 x 10 or larger beam. I think they had some cut or they cut it themselves.

He had an industrial sized sawmill on the property. One of the most amazing men I ever met. He had a collection of farm equipment that would have filled a museum. I wish I had a picture of his diesel tractor. It sounded like a locomotive when he had it running. Maybe I'll stop in and see how he's doing one of these days. He's getting up there in age (90 something), but I'm guessing he's still going strong. We helped him bail straw one hot summer day when he was in his 70s, I was in my 40's and the other fellow was a bit younger. We worked about five hours and broke for lunch. We were close to a heat stroke and he was going strong. We took his advise and stopped while he went back out for another couple hours to finish up. We thought we were in pretty good shape but that gave us a real appreciation for old time farmers.

    Thanks for the encouragement guys.
Pops came over today and we ripped out about a 6x5 foot diagonal section of the floor, sistered in some 2x8's and started rebuilding it.It's pretty amazing that we didn't fall through the floor before now - the only thing holding the tile and toilet up was the underlayment and waste pipe. The vast majority of the the subfloor was gone or rotted so badly that you could pull it out by hand.
we got the new joists and subfloor in and i still have to lay the new backer board and re-lay about a gazillion litttle hexagonal tiles but it's all stable and solid now.
as an aside, for some reason i feel like i've been run over by a truck :)

I stopped today at the quiktrip station closest to my house and picked up a can of general mint. Their snus fridge was much better stocked than the one I went to the other day. The manager seemed to know a little more about it too. The kid that checked me out asked the manager if it was supposed to be cold. I kind of chuckled inside.

Hey Hitt, you're into the gold now, fresh snus, whenever you need it. I'm jealous. How much did they charge and was that can marked? Maybe they're selling knock offs.

I don't envy you Gutter, but it's good you have help. My know it all guy is my friend that's managing service at Liberty Marina so he's not very convenient these days.

I had a pretty good day today. I don't know if I mentioned it but last week (actually two weeks ago I suppose), Jack got excited as I got home and ripped my ear buds by the cord and separated it from the cord. I stopped at Sears hardware and picked up an electronics soldering iron and got them re-attached. Had to use some duct tape since pard of the bud was missing, but they should hold up if I'm careful and the dog minds himself.

I also picked up some bug and tar remover to try to make the scratches in my helmets visor a bit less noticeable. I didn't know if it would help but figured it wouldn't hurt since it looked like there was tar in them. After the first robbing, the scratches didn't look nearly as bad so I went over it again and it got even better. The third time got to the point that I could only see a very small scratch at the very bottom. I worked so well and felt so glassy, I did the whole visor with a coat, then did the inside sun visor. It's almost like new.

Roth, it was 3.99 for the can of mint. That and a soda only carried .36 tax. I am very happy to be able to pick up a fresh can of one of my favorites any time I want. This can didn't have any warnings on it either. The manager said that quiktrip is the only chain in our area to carry it. That's fine with me because they have locations all over the place. Like you said before, I'm going to pick up a can as often as I can to do my part in getting them to keep selling it. The first store I went to was sold out of the mint. That's a good sign.

Aw, FC you're really really running bad right now. I really feel for you. My mom's not feeling well either. We're on an hour by hour schedule to call and check on her. Hang in there, bad vibes eventually run there course. Can we have a group hug for FC, she could really use it.

That's a good price for the Mint Hitt. That would be enough to encourage me to buy local if that option became available. I've found the Mint stores fairly well compared to some of the other flavors, but not having the buy bulk would be ideal.

Good morning. FC, I'm really sorry about your grandpa and your dog. It seems like sometimes life is really testing us. I hope things turn around for you soon.

Roth you are right. There's really no reason for me to order mint any more as long as I can get it local for a good price. Now if they would start carrying thunder then I would be set. I'm sorry to hear your mom isn't well. Yesterday my boss told me that Sunday he took his mother to the movies and she fell and broke her hip. They thought at first they would be able to fix it but had to replace it instead. I think he said she is 81.

Welcome gimpy. Nice to have you here.

Roth, I was wrong, his mom is 86 and not 81. He told me this morning that she has to go stay somewhere for 2-4 weeks of therapy. My mom had a hip socket replaced when she was fairly young. I'm not sure if that's why but it seemed like she had problems with that leg on and off for the rest of her life.

Wow Firechick. I'm sorry to hear about your Grandpa and your dog. I hope that's the end of it.

Hi Gimpy, welcome to the smokeless forum.

Hitt, if I could get General for those prices locally, I would buy some too.

Did everyone see that Thunder Chrome, all of them, are on sale this month? $1.96 a can, and $17.06 a roll. I might get a few rolls of coffee supreme at that price.

My verdict on the thunder orange and chocomint. I like the chocomint, and strongly dislike the orange.... Weird....I don't normally like mint, but the chocomint isn't nearly as sweet as the cool mint. The orange, to me, taste's like a bitter Red Man chewing tobacco with a bad aftertaste.

The Avenger's comes out this weekend. I'm taking one of the Grandkids, it should be fun.
