What's a good 26650 battery

Mooch gave the Efest Green 20A 4200mAh a good grade and I picked them up. Performed as Mooch described, I've been very happy with their performance.

Unfortunately I can not relink his results, I will just Name them.

He devides between high capacity batteries and High-Current.

High-Capacity:

• Keeppower IMR 26650 (10 A / 5200 mAh)

• Enercig / Tensai 26650 (15 A / 4700 mAh)

High-Power:

• Enercig / Tensai 3200mAh (32A/3200mAh)

• MNKE 26650 (mit 15-20A/3500mAh)

• Keeppower 26650 (20A/3500mAh)

Regarding the recommanded 26650 from Mooch, I don´t know them, if to be honest. Basen, Efest and AWT have a bad Image in Germany, while Keepower and Enercig are more popular...AW has a good Reputation, but too expensive (to my opinion).
18650 - I like the 25R and the Sanyo UR18650NSX. I use my eVic Mini on daily use and didn´t replace my batteries so far (I guess each of them has around 120 cycles so far). However I have to admit, that I don´t go above 15W

Mooch has done actual testing, and has released the results here, so his recommendations are spot on.

For 18650's, I would agree wih you. But there are only a few different cells used for all of the 26650's and none of them are Samsung/Sony/LG. The Basen, Brillipower, and Efest all use the same cell under the wrap and can be considered to be the same battery.

Mooch - I agree with you completly. 26650 Li-Ion you can find some really old versions from Panasonic and Sony, that are not really relevant for eCigarette users. All other manufacturer are Chinese. 2 or 3 of them are good and the others...waste of time. I know one manufacturer of 26650 (High-Capacity) that use the cells for own products (batteries for electric busses in China). The cell has UL and IEC...but still it is chinese made.

I was looking at Efest's new 'purple' batteries {26650 / 5200mAh} , but they seem to long for my needs
sure would like me some 5200 vape-time mah...

High-Discharge-Current batteries in this size have according to my experience not more than 3500 mAh.

In my testing, all of the 5200mAh batteries were rated at about 10A.
The 3500-4500mAh 26650's went up to about 23A-25A.

Would like to test them for a RC-Project (just balacing cable and no protection). Up to now found only 2 manufacturer with UL that could make the 20A...however with 3200 mAh and 3300 mAh ;-(

Several 4200-4500mAh 26650's have actual or estimated CDR's of 25A. Check the 26650 performance and ratings table in my blog.
