I've never tried the XL,sounds like a winner from what everyone else is saying. I use a black 808-D-1, it seems real easy to get a good strong TH from. My shorty, on the other hand, seems to take more effort to get a good drag. I can't wait until my wallet tells me I can order a new chrome auto. I might have to try out one of the new XL's coming in too.
Now I'd like to know what is the most powerful bat that V4L has. I've heard good things about the XL's, but I've also heard good things about the single logo auto's.
So my question is... What is the strongest portable bat that V4L has? the auto XL, the manual XL, or the auto single logo??? or is there one that I haven't even mentioned???
All of the V4L batteries will give the same throat hit. The longer batts will just last longer before dying than the shorter batts. The reason behind this is that all of the batts are 3.7 volts with different mAh. The higher the mAh the longer the battery will last but it will not produce stronger vapor. If you want stronger vapor you have to increase the voltage which is why a PT produces more (they are at 5 volts).
That said, I can't wait to try the new shorties! Shorter and lighter weight is what I'm looking for.

It doesn't feel that way to me, my xl really is comparable to the PT for throat hit, unlike my regular auto. The same cart will feel much stronger on the PT and the xl.

You may be correct. If the XL Batt has significantly higher amperage (not mAh just mA) it could produce more vapor. I'm no electrical engineer...just my 2 cents.
I guess I'm the odd man out. I like the new XL manual batteries MUCH better than the passthru. The hit is strong - but it doesn't wipe out the flavor like the PT often does. You get that nice crackling sound and you can literally feel the battery pushing out the vapor and flavor!
I am starting to fell this way as well. I like the PT, and it's great for priming carts that I just refilled, but sometimes I feel as if there is too much power in the PT - I definitely go through carts quicker using it. But the manual XL's are damn near perfect. Now I;m just waiting to get one of the new 10 sec. cutoffs!

The xlong batt probably delivers better performance due to a better voltage curve. I'm also not an EE, but I'm pretty sure that as you drain a battery the voltage at idle and load will drop. The larger capacity the battery has, the longer it takes to drop down. In theory, the first puff should be the same on an xlong, a medium, and a shorty. It's the later puffs that will be better on the larger batteries.
Also, on that topic, it should be possible to have a battery built that performs more like a PT. I believe the cells that the batteries use produce 1.2v per cell, and there will be 3 wired in series to attain a nominal voltage of 3.6v. I would hazard a guess that if you wired in a 4th cell you should get about 4.8 volts which would provide a higher level of vapor. Maybe a future product idea?
That is easy, just get a tiny USB power pack (20-40$) with at least 1000Mah, a real 1000mah not the chinesse 1000mah, they are in fact 100-200mah... just get the new Duracell instant USB charger (around 40$ CDN) and it is really 1000mah
