I make the simplist coils that I can. K.I.S.S. (Keep it simple, stupid)

I worked in a vape shop for over a year. I've tried many of the exotic builds (twisted, parallel, clapton, dragon, single/dual/quads, etc) that my co-workers used and could not really tell a difference from simple microcoils. Your experience may vary.

In my experience, flavor and vapor production depend more on the rba/rda deck and wicking than on the coil itself. Identical coils in a cloud chasing rda and a flavor chaser like the Derringer wiill have quite different results since the deck and atty are differently built and the wicking has to be done differently. The coil certainly has some impact, but the construction of the tank or atomizer has much more impact on flavor and vapor production.

Yeah that's true. I run a fused, 26g core with 32g wrapped, clapton on my dark horse RDA.

For me for flavor it's twisted coils i really can taste the difference from standard micro coils. I almost exclusively use them in my RDA's now. I find them just as easy to make as micro coils it only takes 2 mins to twist your wire. For me those extra 2 mins are well worth it.

also if looking for prewrapped coils I found an awesome site that even has premade claptons since they r such a pain to make - vapocoil.com
$2.50 a pop, plus shipping? No thanks. They're not that difficult to make for a SMALL fraction of that price, especially if you twist a good length of coil in one shot, then spool it up. All you really need is a good drill, a little time, and some patience to practice it a few times. That's one hell of a markup in price. Anything over a buck a piece is a little steep... and I'm considering the cost of the kanthal and the effort and time to twist the wire. I doubt the claptons I've made cost me more than 30 cents apiece and an average of five minutes of my time. Ouch.

I've tried lots of coil designs and coil materials.

I've run the pre-built and built them myself.

What I've noticed is the cloudchaser types are running really hot coils, and the flavors chasers are going to be looking at just enough heat to vaporize, since big clouds aren't the goal.

If you're using a mechanical mod and don't control the heat with the coil you can also adjust flavor by length of drag.
ive been trying all types of builds as well and thus far the best taste and cloud combination that I have found would have to be the claptons that I meantioned in the comments above, and then I also braided some 32 gauge wire and made some coils out of that.... both are fantastic!
