The first time I tried to quite analogs I think I went to low on the nic and that is one reason it did not work. Of course it was a couple of years ago and I did not know about this forum. This time I started at 24 mg and it is working! The only thing I would suggest is getting a low dose for the evenings to switch to. I love the late night vaping after my wife goes to bed and figured out I was getting wired before bed time and that was not good. I switch over to 6 mg about 9 at night so I can sleep!
By the way I was a pack and a half a day smoker for 38 years!

the ego twist and the itaste are just batteries; what's the real thing you vape with? an iclear? a CE4 disposable? a protank? an evod?

I have all 3 ofthe ones you listed above.. I'm using the iclear16 the most. I'm saving the pro tank2 mini for certain juices. I like the evods, but my iTaste won't work with them. I am so new to this, I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, or what.

You mini protank2 works with the itaste but the evods don't?

Thank you to everyone for the advice.
Got my ego this morning and from the first toot I could instantly tell this is for me. Such a nice and clean flavour. Loads of vapour too. I tried the Classic Tobacco juice in 18mg first and found the throat hit a little harsh. Then tried it in 12mg and find it just about right. Then tried the RY4 in 12mg and that was just right too, although I find the Caramel flavour a little overpowering and sickly. Will probably use the 18mg for the first vape in the morning and when I'm stressed but use the 12 for an all day vape.

I woke up at 7AM and forced myself not to smoke an analog until I got the ego. First used it at 8.30AM and it's now just gone 3PM and haven't had the urge for an analog in the slightest. It's like normal cigarettes never existed.
I am SO happy. Will soon be able to get my stamina for football back to where it used to be. I'm sitting here vapping as I speak and the clean flavour is just heavenly.

My Dad tried it and loved it too. A 50 a day smoker who ordered a kit immediately after trying it and will hopefully kick the analogs too.

These things are a godsend. A bit early days I know but
I see no reason why I will ever smoke analogs again. I've thrown my baccy in the bin, some may say that's too premature but I'm so content with the nictone hit I get from this I don't see the need for a cancer stick.

Would like to thank everyone for the kind welcome and advice. Such a fabulous forum. Rest assured
you'll be seeing so much more of me, this is just the beginning of my wonderful trip into vapeland.

Cheers :toast:

hey matty thats great !
very happy for ya that you like your new set up, then BONUS is getting Dad into it !

funny tasting might be because your battery output isn't matching your juice/coil combo
which brings me to--Variable Volt (adjustable battery)
now I am not gonna keep suggesting things you should buy (that's a hobbist thinking)☺
but I'd say you will soon seek out a VV battery for the best vape experience
- Vision Spinner 1300 [VE503] - £23.99 : Vape Escape
one of these will change everything--before you start discarding juices, coils, tanks etc. ...
and your current batts will become a Great back-up... ;) (mark my words)

ps: what site do you shop ?

:) good luck

Apollo has great customer service. That's where I started my journey years ago. I woulda told you to just take the jump to the ss vtube

That is a lot of the reason why I chose them. Of course that was before I found this wonderful forum. In hindsight I should have gone for the Vamo, that seems the perfect device for me. Or rather, the one that appeals to me the most.

But hey, I'm loving my vape experience and am getting great flavour and vapour. And more importantly, it's keeping me away from the Analogs.

Have on illusions. I've always liked collecting and modding so will defiantly be upgrading but for now I'm just going to enjoy the wonderful invention that is vaping. Plenty of time to upgrade.

Thanks Puf

I love it. No I don't think it's the battery, the other juices taste great. I think it's that particular blend of RY4, a little too much Caramel for my liking. Great for an occasional vape though. May need steeping possibly? Found a vape shop near me in Cambridge so going there next week to get some more juices.

I've looked at the spinner but seriously I think the Vamo will defiantly be the upgrade. Then keep the E-Go's for going out and back-up. Will probably do that in a few months or so, not sure yet, very happy with the Ego.

Yes, I'd love to get my Dad off the analogs. He's 61 and smokes A Lot, bad breathing, so would be a great benefit for him. He's put off by the initial cost but I keep trying to explain that the initial cost isn't a factor. It's health, much more important, I'd do vaping even if it cost more. Also once you've got supplies it works out very cheap. he spends about £70 a month on baccy so will defiantly save. With me it's a more fine line, won't save much but I didn't do it for that reason.

Got my mini protank II coming from Myepack.co.uk

Going to get my juice from the shop in Cambridge I mentioned, if it's good that is.

Great! :)

I am STILL putting off my review for one of the kits on myepack. I fear that once I write it up, I will no longer be truly "independent" in linking to this vendor.

It is worth pointing out that I do use other vendors, I just have a thing for mini Protanks and Innokin MVP. I wish I'd never bought the Vamo now.
(It's not for sale though, I'm keeping it should the zombie apocalypse ever arrive).

In fact, I'm shopping for another mechanical right now. :)

I was roll ups, packed in for about 6 months and then started on Marlboro Lights for a bout a month before making the switch to ecigs. I started with 18mg strength, but after the first week, was getting a little more a desire for a better / bigger throat hit, so upgraded to 24mg and have been using that for the last four months. In december, I bought a VV device, and with the knowledge that I could adjust the power output, I downgraded back to 18mg, which is where I'm happy at the moment.

Good Luck.

Congratulations once again !

Trust me, just stay mentally strong about this, you don't need the analogs anymore ... and some may say too premature to toss out your analogs, but I say otherwise even though it's personal .. I was a pack a day and the day I decided to give it up I had 2 cigs left in my pack ..

the pack still sits where I keep my keys and wallet in the kitchen as a reminder to myself that I will never go back to it.. it's been 7 weeks.. I see the pack every day, and not once has looking at it appealed to me !

I guess one of the reasons I kept my pack was at the beginning incase I needed a cigarette they would be there instead of not having a pack and feeling the urge to buy one .. but it worked out in my favour ...

after all the amazing juices I have discovered, I will NEVER go back to analogs no matter what .. I have lost a lot of my stamina over the 15 years I smoked and I miss playing basketball properly like I did before .. and I have a 16-month old son that, indirectly, pushed me over the edge to finally give up the analogs ...

we all have a story, and each story is unique and amazing in its own way, and we can all learn from each other ..

I read through this forum lots of times to mentally prepare me, so everyone's stories and advice are actually helping people before they ever join this forum ...

Thanks nomadic.

Yeah I'm pretty sure I'll never smoke again. These are so effective. Taste so much better. The throat hit is the most important to me and I get that in droves.

I was tempted to keep my baccy just in case but I thought "You know what, no". If I have the baccy lying around it would make it more tempting to go back to analogs. If I've thrown them away then I don't have them in the house and I certainly won't buy more, was the best approach for me. I thought I'd still crave one when my Dad was smoking but no, nada. I suppose a lot of it is because although I started when I was 15 and I'm 21, in smoker's terms that's not a long long time. Makes it easier I think. But the real factor is the E-Cig's themselves. With patches you're not getting the hand action and smoke/vape inhale, with these you are. You're still getting the nicotine hit, hand action, throat hit and vapour.

I'm now going to train hard to get my stamina back. Should be able to. I still wasn't what you'd call unfit even when smoking, I still played in a football team every weekend. But I ws noticing my stamina was slipping, was finding it harder to do a full 90 minutes. And it would have only got worse.

Well done for kicking the analogs too, especially with a son. Congratulations.

We are in a glorious era when vaping is becoming increasingly popular and I honestly believe in the future it will take over smoking. Will take a LONG time due to the misconception and ignorance towards them, but it will happen.

Thank you nott.

Congratulations on staying away from the analogs.

At the moment I'm vaping when I wake up at 18mg and then dropping to 12mg. Find that about right. I suppose 16mg would be about the sweet spot.
