Hopefully someone can chime in on this. I get a lot of different answers from reading multiple peoples posts on this.

What is the difference in taste for Cotton Candy, Sucralose, Ethyl Maltol, Sweetner?

I have TFA Cotton Candy, but it doesn't really give me the sweet sugar taste I am looking for for my menthol. I thought Wintergreen or Spreamint would sweeten up my menthol, but it got more of a earthy taste to it.

TFA CC is Ethyl Maltol in PG, it's not really a sweetener but more a flavor (caramelized). Used with tobaccos it works great at rounding out the flavor notes. Sweetener is sucralose in PG, some vendors add a little something to there sweetener to make it proprietary but mostly sucralose and PG. The sweetener would be a much better product for your menthol.

Ok, I ordered some TPA Sweetener. Hopefully this was the missing piece I needed to complete my juice!

I think you'll be happy with it. I started with their sucralose sweetener, and it's just pure sweet. Quite potent, as well.

I like the Ethyl Maltol with many mixes, as well. It does seem to add a bit more 'body' to round out flavors.

A mix of the two can get ineresting results. For instance, if I mix a bitter flavor with sucralose, I tend to get more of the bitter on the inhale, and a bit more of the sweet on the exhale. Adding Ethyl Maltol does seem to bring them together a bit better, for me.

TFA has 2 different types of Cotton Candy: Circus style (similar to "Blue" Cotton Candy) and the regular (made from ethyl maltol, diluted to 10% in PG). If you dilute your EM crystals in PG, you will have the same thing as the regular Cotton Candy flavor from TFA.

I'm having trouble linking to the specific pages at Flavor Apprentice, but if you go to their website flavorapprentice.com you will find the descriptions under the sweet & sour flavors section.

I use 1% Sweetener in my menthol recipes, and it's the perfect amount to get the mint flavors to pop. You won't be disappointed!

Just used TFA Sweetener in my menthol mix and it is sooo much better than Cotton Candy...At least for this mix. Definitely has a sugar sweet flavor almost like corn syrup.

Glad it worked out!
