I was just thinking how cheap it would be to vape unflavored liquid.

If I was to buy 500ML of PG and VG, and buy some nicotine I could vape for a very long time and no steeping would really be required essentially.

It beats paying £15+ for some really nice flavour in a measly 30ML bottle (I could go through it within a day or two).

Has anyone tried it, does it litrelly taste like nothing or does it taste chemically?

what I do is buy 24mg (or 18mg if that's all I can get) and dilute it 10 to 1 with a base of vg+10% water.

Sometimes I just up a fresh wick with the unflavoured-no-nic base then vape it a bit then add a drop of some random flavour; my rda often contains some random concoction in it as a result.

the unflavoured definitely has a flavour, and it is usefull to know what your unflavoured base tastes like

You could also try concentrated flavoring, I use vapingzone superconcentrated and it is really cheap. I use one drop per 2 ml, soa bottle of 10ml lasts a long time...
What is the taste like with that? Is there a point to it? A drop per 2ML doesn't sound like you will even taste it?

If I was to make a 30ML bottle then I would only put 15 drops in, that's probably less than 1ML. Can you taste anything? And what wattage do you vape that at?

You can purchase vg & pg locally & sample it. If the taste is acceptable, you can order your nicotine later.
Actually flavors are not expensive. A 27 oz. bottle of TFA or Capella is less than $1.50 and makes a lot of juice. If you like it, it's even cheaper in bigger bottles.

DIY juice is pretty easy to taper into & a learn as you go hobby.

Once you start vaping unflavored, you may find that a lot of commercial juice is over-flavored. I only use Reos, and sometimes I'll put just 1 or 2 drops of flavor in the bottle, with about 5 1/2 ml of my unflavored. I especially like to use TFA Caramel Candy for this. It provides just a nice hint of flavor.

been vaping unflavored for 3 months nonstop. Tried a flavor last week from a friend she had in her tank. I about gagged at it. Unflavored is naturally a little sweet. Some people claim peppery depending on nicotine level and where you order. My dad says it's the closest thing to a Marlboro light and is lightyears better than the "flavor junk" in his words haha.

I picked up a slight sweet, chemical taste from my unflavored. It worked well to put only 2 or 3 drops of some flavor per 30 ml to change the flavor of the unflavored just enough to make it most palatable. One of my favorites is white chocolate. At such a low flavoring level, it calculates out to about 0.33% with three drops, one can't even worry too much about what the flavoring contains.

True, unflavored does not mean flavorless, I like it, feels like a smoke sometimes.

I agree. There's like a light "ash" taste from unflavored nic, very clean flavor. My 0mg (VG base+ distilled water) taste like nothing, maybe a tad sweet.

I'd go for it, I don't think you an really get sick of it. If anything you can add it to flavors if you don't like it. It will also keep your coils and wick much cleaner and in result will last much longer.

I started DIY a month ago and it's been a revelation. The mixing calculator says the cost is about 2.4 cents per ml. For me that works out to about $50 a year. Upfront I ordered $100 of materials to get started. Half of that was a 1 liter bottle of 100mg nic. It will last me almost 4 years. I use one flavor, Cuppucino by Capella at 3.5% and don't tire of it.

In 4 years cigarettes would have cost $12,000 at a carton a week. Instead I'll spend about $200 mixing at home. The difference is so large it's hard to comprehend but it's also why governments are freaking out about vaping. Home made juice is liquid liberty.

As a 40 year heavy smoker, unflavored is as near as I ever found to a cigarette. It's the only "flavor" I have used for nearly 3 years. When I first started using unflavored I was vaping higher nic levels (12-18mg) so there was more nicotine (peppery) taste. Now I'm down to 4mg so I don't taste much nicotine, just the slight sweetness of the VG. I use 60% PG 40% VG. My VG comes from Walmart and my PG from Tractor Supply.
