I made a waterproof mod a while back. I just couldn't get the technique down for vaping underwater, I kept almost downing every time I tried it. What is your secret?
Well bad jokes aside, is the battery still able to vent? I assume you keep water out of the carto tank with some sort of one way valve. It would be nice to have some kind of mod that can survive a dunk in the lake while fishing.
very true, the mod needs some way to vent if the battery breaks down a safety seal or pop-able section. maybe a small rubber one way valve. heck just drill a hole in the bottom and pop in one of those anti siphon valves available at aquarium shops.
while aesthetics are important small things can be overlooked in the face of usability in certain situations.
Will do, and the battery compartmet is sealed off from the air intake area in the switch. There is a rubber plug at the bottom that can pop out in case of a battery meltdown.
Just got the video of opening this mod up after a dunk in the drink! Youtube search for waterproof vape mods. Thank you folks for your interest and kind words!!!
There is a new kid in town. The first waterproof vape mod viewed in the video here is now obsolete!!! Coming soon to a town near Knoxville,Iowa...prototype #2, a new beginning. The first mod was a mechanical,#2 is with a circuit!
I think that "water resistant" would be more appropriate. It's meant to prevent damage, if accidentally dropped in a liquid; we obviously wouldn't leave it there.
Not to belittle the OP here; water resistant is quite a feat in itself. It's the kind of thing that cell phones are just catching up to now. Nice work.
I also liked the very casual sip of coffee, while the e-cig is resting underwater.
That's pretty cool, I know some scuba divers (I'm certified as well) who have waterproof cases for their analogs and this might be a great replacement for them since several of them have said dragging a pv near salt water would a very bad plan. Nifty stuff.
Steve, nice work! I worked with getting some lighting equipment water resistant and pass UL inspection years ago and that was a real pain. You've done a really great job there and seem to have all bases covered.
