Hi, I bought a watermelon flavoured e-liquid 16mg, dilution not a problem, I find it a bit strong anyway.
This watermelon tastes like it's closest to the rind on the white bit. It maybe an acquired taste, I think it's awful!:p

Note, am new to this, so bag of tricks is small and only have the following concentrates from TPA: French Vanilla, Dulce De Leche and Bubblegum.
Which should I use to enhance/ alter the flavour of the Watermelon, and create something really yummy? :D

First thing I would suggest is take the juice and shake it, shake it, shake it, then take the top off and put it in a dark cool place for 24 hours then try it again. Flavours can change over time and it sounds as though it is watermelon flavoured but maybe requires a little time to mature. Leaving for longer about two weeks could change it totally.

If that fails and it is still bad I would try adding a little French Vanilla, you didn't say what size bottle of juice you have so its hard to say how much to add. I would start with 5%. This may or may not work. Generally if you think its awful now, trying to change it you will still have the same base and you probably still won't like it.

Now I promise, I really don't know what pants taste like.

Thanks I'll give this ago, see what happens.

Leaving for longer about two weeks could change it totally.

Yip, it might evaporate completely and problem solved.

Forgot the amount, 10mls, so not breaking the bank, but seems silly to bin it, if I can fix it.
Will try leaving over night or perhaps two nights, see what it's like, then try the vanilla, see what happens. :)

I just bought some from Prime vaping and it is awful, tastes like rotten rind I love most of their juice but this one is bad, actually I think pants would taste better.

Agreed then, perhaps watermelon should be re-labelled as Pants flavoured e-liquid

Well which watermelon you have ? Even premade watermelon isn't all that these days for me. I remember getting KoKo watermelon, it was good, due to a huge promo in some shop I bought 5 bottles and it's so so now. There is a watermelon thread somewhere in here

You could try some to add some sweetener. Or perhaps you just used too much flavoring. I just always start out with some drops, give it a taste. Cause my first experiences I had mixed results. Some were superb, others which i actually wanted more turned up crappy

Hi Everyone,
It's been nearly a month since my original post and thought I'd let you know what's happened with the watermelon.:)
I took Yves advice and let it steep for a week then gave it a try, no real change, liquid thicker, slightly less green but not good enough, gave it another week, better but eh!
I then tried Bogeyjim's advice and added a touch of vanilla, not bad!
But I still couldn't get that green rind taste away, mute it yes, but not a completely gone. So, no more watermelon for me. :) No point, I know some people love their Watermelon, I'm jealous, but I really couldn't face buying any watermelon without wondering if it's going to be the same again. Mine was from uk-eliquid 16mg premix.

What I have learned through DIY is I have great aspirations for flavours/recipes but no real motivation/ aptitude in creating them. I've tried bergamot & rose, elderflower & apple, I lack the patience for it. I land up with nasty air freshener and really mean flavours. I'm saving these concentrates for a decent PIF later on ;)
For now, I have settled into a diet of TPA Bubblegum, Spearmint and French Vanilla, I don't really have a sweet tooth and drink loads of coffee I find these flavours play less havoc with my daily routine and with my clearomizers.
Thanks for all the advice on how to mix and prepare flavours, these threads have been a godsend, honestly I'd be lost without those who have tried, tested and flavour stamped practically every flavour and recipe out there.
I salute your patience. :)

I've noticed this with orange too- a bit of a rind taste.

As I don't care for sweet or creamy e-liquid, I don't vape them. I did make an orange dream bar that wasn't bad although I wouldn't vape it all day.

I guess the only thing to do would be to add sweetner, a cream/vanilla or another fruit along with it.

Stand alone fruit, I do like peach, pineapple, cantaloupe, even lemon is pretty zesty.

Well besides lorann and madvapes watermelon I have tried all, and none come close. And yes most taste like the rind part. The cantaloupe melon on the other hand is alot closer. A watermelon actually i considered to have no taste. But when I was young I ate alot of watermelon. And I had some a week ago. The taste I get from vaping doesn't come close to a juicy piece of watermelon

I'm about to place an order for more concentrates, I will add Capellas Watermelon to my list. If it's horrible, it'll be straight in the post to you.
But I am understanding why it's called PIF. Piffy stuff gets piffed.
I wonder has any flavour ever gone full circle and landed back in hands of original owner?
