I had my Ego with a clearo in my purse when I went through security at the courthouse. They scanned my purse twice, then asked me what it was. When I showed them (we have Sheriff's deputies for security there) they were all quite curious about it. They did let me bring it in. When I was leaving, one of them was in the smoking area outside the building and he stopped me to ask about it. I told him to check out this forum and hope that he did.

I had a similar experience, but I had a volt X2 with clearo. The guards and other jurors were very curious about it and asked a lot of questions. I was allowed to bring it in and all were allowed to smoke/vape during breaks.

I'm curious cryfreedom which County you are from. I am in Brevard County (Melbourne area) and I know a friend that this happened to. They told her the reason she couldn't bring it in is because others have "cheated" and vaped in all areas of the courthouse.

im in the melbourne area as well!

Interesting reason...still sucks that the cigarette smokers got to smoke all day though and i didnt haha

I have brought an eGo Twist into a Court House before.

The Sheriffs at the X-Ray Machine asked me what it was and I told them it was an e-Cigarette. They said they asked me because they had never seen one with a Clear part like on it like mine. It had a CE2 on it.

They asked if I planned to try and use it inside the Building and I said No. They said if I did I would be removed and the e-Cigarette would be confiscated. I said no problem and they told me to have a Nice Day.

They acted Very Professional and kinda Run-of-the-Mill about it.

I had jury duty this past year. The first day I went, I left my REO mini in the car and asked one of the sheriffs if I could bring it in next time. They said yes. So I brought it the next time and had no trouble for any of the visits. I did not use it in the courthouse. But when I actually had to serve on a jury, I went outside with the rest of the smoking jurors escorted by an officer. I had no hassles from anyone.

Jury duty last Sept., got into Palm Beach Co. courthouse w/ no problems. I tossed a purple VP2 in my perse w/ an atty and drip tip, bottle of juice and a few 14500's in a small case. (Just knew an amber bombshell wouldn't make it thru security.) Officer asked me what it was and I told him elect cig. He just looked at me oddly and waved me thru. Thank goodness because I had to park in a parking garage a mile away.

So based on the replies posted here, it sounds like the OP’s experience was more the Exception and Not the Rule.

Seems to be. I did make sure I asked first if e-cigs were a problem. They told me no. So I brought it the next time I had to show. I had no problems getting in with it in my purse going through the scanner. When I went on "smoke" breaks, we had a sheriff escort us. And all he asked when I pulled out my REO was, "Is that one of those electronic cigarettes?" Of course I said yes, and had no problem at all.

I was not presumptuous and only vaped when we went on a "smoke" break - no stealths in the bathroom, no stealths in hallways inside, etc. I felt being courteous was important.

I recently served as a juror in a federal case in downtown Dallas that lasted for 5 days. I carried 2 KGO batts with Kanger T2 tanks, (each filled with a different flavor and strength juice), in a zippered case in my purse every single day. Day 1, after x-raying my purse, I was asked to remove the case and let the deputy examine what was in it. I did and he looked it over and asked me what it was. I explained, he nodded and smiled - and that was it. I had no issues other than that.

Every smoke break, I was outside with the cigarette smokers, vaping my face off, and when it was time to deliberate, I even vaped in the deliberation room with no problems.
