Was my taste really that bad?

Last night, I ate some white corn Tortilla chips. Expecting the usual crunchy salty tasty snack they were, they tasted a little different. Still as salty and crunchy as before, but I picked up something I've never tasted in them before, a mild sweet undertone!

So, instead of getting what I expected, I got to enjoy a crunchy, salty, and even tastier snack! I knew my taste would improve after making the switch, but I didn't realize it would that much! Also, I noticed someone smelling like smoke. The catch is, they smoked their last cigarette over an hour before I noticed it. WOW, I didn't know that was possible.

What were your first impressions with the improved senses of taste and smell after you switched to vaping?

I totally noticed the same thing too. especially with the smells of cigarette smoke. Before with the analogs i couldn't tell the difference of someone or something smelling like tobacco smoke. As far as my taste buds go, so far i've been craving for bitter things. I don't know why?! I can say though, that I can taste everything much better than before.

It's amazing what happens when your taste buds comes back isn't it?

It truly is! I thought it was when I started tasting things more intensely, then this hit me like a brick wall! Even more to make me not consider going back to analogs.

I'm on day two without analogs and I can hardly wait until I start noticing the subtleties of food!

TC

It will come soon enough. It took me about 3 weeks before it fully hit me.

Side note: I played 2 games of soccer with a few friends recently in the past month (one a week before I switched, and one last night). I never realized how much analogs killed my stamina! I can't believe how I was actually able to keep up last night! It's amazing.

Happened to me at around 4 weeks but didn't realize it - had a fish sandwich from Mac's I thought 'This tastes like it did when I was a kid'... thought nothing more of it. Next week it was really evident that my buds had changed - then flashed back on the fish sandwich ;-)

A good thing to keep in mind before you start your cache of juice. ;-)

Yeah, the stale smoke smell is abhorrent now! I had no idea that I smelled that bad. The downside to our sense of smell coming back is that we notice the horrible things too. I swear I thought that half my office must be eating onions at their desks the other day because the smell was soooo pungent. Turns out it was one guy eating a salad. Unreal, I'd have barely noticed that smell just a month ago.

About a week after I started vaping I pulled a "clean" t-shirt from the closet and tossed it on. About 5 minutes later I noticed an "old smoke" smell and realized my "clean" shirt still smelled slightly of my old stale cigarette smoke. Everything got re-washed that day with a new and different laundry detergent.

Just wanted to share an experience not seen here about cleaning my own pipes (nose and sinuses)

I've had a much smoother time getting the ideal smoke by using a neti pot on ME.

I've been vaping since June and the fiddling, cleaning buying stuff etc. was really starting to drive me nuts (perhaps a tinkerer's nature is like OCD)

I started using a neti pot about a month ago and now I can actually taste and smell what I'm really doing...

The change is astonishing to me..

I find I'm doing a lot less fiddling w/equipment and more enjoying my vaping.

If so inclined there a plenty of references on the net including how to videos.

It takes some effort but well worth it.

I smoked for over 35 yrs. (been vaping since June) so I guess I needed more than just not smoking tobacco.
