I am so glad I am not the only one that had this question. I have been using the ego type for 2 months now and want to get a vv/vw also and have been looking at the istick and the iTaste shine. I really like the size if the istick. But love the blind on the iTaste. I am about to take the leap and get the istick.

I'm sorry. What do you mean you like the itaste shine? And you like the "blind" on the itaste?
Anyway, I love the look and size of the itaste vv4. I really was right about to order one before I saw an ad or something for the eleaf itaste. What finally decided it for me was that they are both compact but the new itaste only goes up to 15w I believe. The istick 30w does double the power AND battery life for what, the same price? Maybe even cheaper. I think the best price I found for the itaste was around 45 bucks.

BTW you're better than me. I went from an evod batt to an evod vv in one week. Then one week later I'm ordering the istick :/.

I read about this when I did my research and it seems that the new 30w istick has fixed this voltage step down issue.

Yep, they switched to RMS instead of mean, and as long as you get the 30W or 50W you should be OK. Most are picking up the 20w, as it's rare for people to use more than 8-15w on normal tanks. I don't really go by what they say; on the 20w you can click down to 2V and still just get 4V -- I think there's still an issue where their 2V is 3V, but 3V is A-OK. With the 20w you could set it to 12 and feel like you were getting 20.

And I've been vaping 50/50 liquids on my evod vv at 4-4.2 volts on a 1.5 ohm bdc with no problem. Would this be any different on the istick?

Yeah, if you're happy at 4-4.2V with your tanks you should be fine, even with the 20w.

I meant bling on the iTaste shine. I hate spell checker on my phone sometimes.

Ok guys. So I just received my istick 30 today in the mail eagerly awaiting it to pop on my mini PT3 and have a great time. To my extreme disappointment, all that was included in this tiny box was the istick! No charging cable! No ego adapter! I was ....... Once again I got it from vapenw and I'm mad they didn't outwardly and clearly mention on the website that it did not include these things. At least for the 20w version they call it the "eleaf istick 20w simple pack" so as not to mislead customers. And here I thought i was getting a great deal. So now I've called all vape shops in the area asking if they carry an adapter to no avail.

Call your local vape shops again, and see if they have any ohm readers. Some ohm readers come with the adapter. A local vape shop sold me just the adapter out of the box. Worth a try.

That sucks.. just buy a cheap tank to use without the adapter, my cell phone charger is the same as my istick i bought the charger at a gas station.

Funny, I was so upset I just went and went out and picked up an Aspire Nautilus Mini (which I was planning on getting anyway), and I love it! Lol, not exactly a "cheap tank" but problem solved! I don't even wanna use my mini PT3 anymore after this.

I was wondering about this. If I want to eventually get into RDAs, I would need an ohm reader anyway, right? Or couldn't I just use the iStick for that?

There was another post I wanted to quote but I forgot to hit the button. Anyway, I did call a vape shop when I first got the package and they did sell both the iStick on its own and with the charger and adapter and they REFUSED to sell me the adapter itself...

You can, if you're only going to be using your RDA/rebuildables on the istick. I personally would be a little gunshy about doing low-ohm builds like that, but you aren't the only person doing it and cheap multimeters aren't much better.

low-ohm builds like what? What range ohm builds do people usually start with?

And how much do those ohm reader/stands usually run anyway?

I just got the istick!(on sale!) as an upgrade from ego, and I love it! I was a bit worried about not being able to use it, but it's just as easy, and is such a better vape!! Now i'm on a hunt to find the best juices in the world!!!

Where'd you get it and how much? I went from ego to ego vv to istick. The ego vv step helped a little for me I think youtube and these forums could of sufficed. At least I have an extra battery!

1. I's not uncommon for APVs to have ohm meters that are 0.1-2 off. e.g., if the istick says 1ohm, but it's actually 0.7-8, unless you have a really low-amp battery you should be OK. If it says 0.5 but it's actually 0.2, you could be in some trouble. I've heard it's generally accurate, but eleaf has some trust to rebuld in my head regarding it's electronics. The other issue is you're putting wear and tear on your APVs 510 connection.

2. Ohm meters you can screw onto and use as a build deck are generally $6-15 depending on the quality and whether they're coming off the slow boat.

3. A multimeter is a little less convenient in some ways but much more capable in others. If you're not using a mechanical, external batteries or really troubleshooting RDAs an ohm meter is probably what you want.
