Hello and welcome back for today's review of the Argus Pro 2 from Voopoo. This Argus version joins the ever growing Argus family of pod devices with some nice features including a internal 300mAh battery, power locking switch and has a built in lanyard holder for those of you that like using lanyards. The Argus Pro 2 has a maximum power output of 80 watts and has 3 power modes to choose from and uses the PnP X line of coils. The version that was sent to me to review is a RDL-DL version but a MTL version is available as well. The pod I'm reviewing has a nice 5ml juice capacity and uses top airflow. After some info about the Argus Pro 2 I'll give you my findings on it.

    FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Packaging is simple with a slide out half box with a White cardboard box sitting on top of the device and connected pod, inside the box is the 0.3Ω mesh coil, charge cord, user manual and PNP X platform card, the 0.15Ω mesh coil comes already installed in the pod.

The first thing that caught my eye was how attractive the device is while being very lightweight for having a 3000mAh internal battery. I think placement of controls are done well with just enough protruding to feel, sometimes controls are pushed out to far and can get hung up on clothing such as putting it in a pocket, not so with the Argus Pro 2 though. I don't use a lanyard and was worried it's connection point would hang up but it's no problem.

The dynamic switch as Voopoo calls it has a good amount of resistance as to not come off the setting you selected before putting it in a pocket, in the time I've tested it it never changed position on me and remained in the locked mode. Locking and unlocking is easily done with a thumb flick.

Connection of the pod to the device is done magnetically as most devices like this use, there are 4 magnets used to ensure a very strong hold of pod to device. This pod hold 5mls of juice and is rather thirsty, I would suggest that you get in the habit of filling it at the half filled point to ensure a well saturated coil on every vape. A rubber plug located on the side of the pod has a large opening to let plenty of air out during the fill, I never had a mess filling and it fills pretty quick.

Being top air mean the chance of any leakage is greatly reduced, I had none during testing. If you like to use your own drip tips your out of luck because the drip tip on the pod is proprietary but works just fine is comfortable and looks alright too. Above the airflow slots you will notice Voopoo used knurling on the airflow selector helping with turning, resistance is in the goldilocks position being just right.

Turning to this beautiful device, the spine is wrapped in leather but there is no cushion feel to it, the leather is soft but not thick., On the bottom a very soft silicone rubber sits just under the metal bottom preventing damage to furniture by sliding the mod across it. ( NICE TOUCH )

As I always do when testing a new device I hooked up the charge cord and plugged it in to start charging and noticed a nice animated effect of bubbles coming up from the bottom of the display screen which I thought was a cool effect. The charge port has a rubber cover that helps to keep it free of debris such as pocket lint, it takes about 1 hour to fully charge when the battery is depleted.

There is a switch at the bottom of the display screen the locks the entire device from operating but surprisingly there is no way to just lock the adjustment buttons that I feel was a missed opportunity. When the switch is flicked up the whole device becomes locked and a locked screen message appears, to unlock just flick the switch down and a unlocked screen appears. When it is locked a Red padlock appears on the display screen.

There are 3 power modes within this device and they are ( SMART - RBA - TURBO ). T he smart mode is nice because in this mode a suggested wattage is set to start with and the smart mode also stops wattage from being adjusted higher than the coil being used is rated for.

In RBA mode the smart feature is deactivated and you can set the wattage to the full 80 watt max. The Turbo mode gives a slight boost of power for the first second or too of the vape The color of the display is also different with each mode.

    SMART - Brown

    RBA - Blue

    Turbo - Red

This is a very simple and easy menu system to navigate.

    * ON/OFF - 5 Quick presses of the power button

    * CLEAR PUFFS - Press And Hold The Fire Button And + Button Simultaneously

    * ENTER THE MENU -Press And Hold Both Adjustment Button Down Simultaneously

    FINAL IMPRESSION

Well folks I have nothing but good things to report while using the Argus Pro 2 aside from not being able to lock wattage only everything has been good. The PNP X coils really give great flavor and the airflow is smooth with no chop at any setting. If lots of air is your style the Argus Pro 2 has you covered.

Fully opened up was too much for my liking and flavor drops as well, I found that being opened to a little less than 1/3 was my sweet spot with great flavor from both coils, I only needed my wattage at 58 watts on the 0.15Ω coil for great flavor, 34 watts did the trick with the 0.3Ω coil.

It still surprises me how light the device feels, by no means is a shirt pocket device but is small enough to fit in a front pocket wearing a pair of jeans.

The display screen is bright and vivid with large enough fonts for my aging eyes. All in all I consider the Argus Pro2 Kit to be a winner and recommend it 100%.

I would like to thank Voopoo and Hillary for providing the Argus Pro 2 Kit for the purpose of my review, I would also like to thank all of you that read my reviews.

    THANK YOU
