Hello and welcome back to today's review of another new addition to the Argus family from Voopoo called the Argus G. The Argus G is a Pod styled device with a 1000mAh internal battery and features a OLED display screen with wattage adjustability up to 25watts with the smart wattage feature as well and has the round robin feature to help speed things up. Airflow is fully adjustable from a very tight MTL to a very tight RDL vape. There's a lot to cover so lets get started.

    FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Voopoo has kept their compact packaging with the Argus G putting everything that comes with the kit in a plastic bag that tucks neatly in and behind the Argus G's plastic tray, I like this style of packaging so everything stays together.

As most do the Argus G uses magnets to attach the pod to the device, the magnets do the job well enough having never separated while carrying in my pocket. Voopoo puts a protective safety sticker across the bottom of the pod to prevent accidental firing in shipping, this sticker must be removed before using.

The Type-C charge port is on one side of the device at the top portion and because the Argus G is so lightweight I suggest laying it down when charging because it can tip over easily. On the bottom of the device Voopoo put a rubber base to keep from sliding and protect the users furniture.

I started charging the Argus G to give it a full charge for testing and was very pleasantly surprised to see not only a battery bar but a percentage indicator and minute counter as well. The fonts and numbers are small but I can easily see them even with my aging eyes.

After reaching a full charge it was time to fill the pod and get to testing of the Argus G and that was when I found a con with the kit. As much as I hate the rubber plug that some pods use I can accept them when done well even though more and more manufacturers are using a top fill method.

The fill port is large enough for large bottle tips but the fill port plug is very thin and flimsy plus I find it difficult to grasp on to it granted I do have large hands and fingers, this could have been done better and I hope Voopoo either goes to a top fill or beefs up the fill port plug with new devices.

Include with the Argus G is a lanyard for those that like to use them, the device is a real featherweight and you will hardly feel it if using the lanyard, I've included a picture for you.

Turning our attention to the display screen that is laid out nicely with a simple menu that is accessed by pressing the fire button 5 times quickly which brings up the menu. The menu has 3 options, ( Puff Clear - Lock - Power Off ). To activate any of them press the fire button to move to your setting to adjust then long press the fire button to change.

The lock feature is for fire button that can be locked making it auto draw only. You can turn the device on with 5 quick presses of the fire button but turning it off has to be done in the menu, the multifunctional one button operation works very well and I applaud Voopoo on it.

To change wattage press the fire button 3 times and then the wattage displayed will begin flashing, once flashing the wattage can be increased up to 25 watts with the next press engaging the round robin feature bringing it to 5 watts. The Argus G has smart tech that detects the coil being used preventing the user from applying more wattage than the coils maximum rating saving the coil from being burnt.

Another nice feature of the smart tech is the setting of a safe wattage for the coil being used, this is a nice feature for vapers just starting. On the 0.7Ω pod the starting wattage is 16 watts and I found it a good setting of wattage and didn't need to increase it during testing.

The airflow for the Argus G is on one side of the device and is fully adjustable with 3 holes above the adjustment knob and a single smaller hole below it. I would rate the device as more geared as a MTL one but a really tight RDL vape can be done. Airflow is smooth and the auto draw works very well all the way though the vape. The adjustment knob is somewhat recessed and has very good tension never coming off my setting when carried in a pocket.

Voopoo says the user can get 2-3 days on one charge depending on your vape use but for me I averaged between 265-273 vapes while testing using mainly the 0.7Ω pod. Using the 1.2Ω pod will definitely increase your vape time but the 0.7Ω pod is more of my style and liking.

    FINAL IMPRESSIONS

I have to say Voopoo has really been putting out some great devices and the Argus G has to be included as well. I can't find a con with the device except for the flimsy rubber fill port plug that I suggest you don't manhandle and treat it gingerly.

I like the Argus G so much that it replaces a pod device I use during working hours, I have been using it as 1 of the 2 pod devices I use at work and really love the fact you can buy empty pods and just replace ITO coils instead of the whole pod, a big thumbs up Voopoo .

Having a choice of button activation or auto draw is great with the ability to deactivate the fire button which is a must in my book adds to it's appeal. The ITO coils are great flavor producers and can be replaced with the empty pods purchase. All in all the Argus G is a BIGTIME WINNER and I recommend it 100% if your a MTL vaper.

I would like to thank Nical and Voopoo for providing the Argus G for review and I hope that all the questions you had about it were answered with my review.

    THANK YOU

Great review thanks. I’ve got two Argus pod kits and a Argus P1 because of the flimsy bung on the pod I only use the fixed coil pods which actually do last a long time so the bung isn’t so much a problem, if using the empty pods and coils the bung might be a problem with longevity. The one good thing is you can actually see all the eliquid so no chance of running dry.
