I just heard back from vaporesso about the firmware update tool. I had a problem getting it loaded because the file name contained Chinese characters and I had contacted them to let them know. They changed the file name so the zipped file should load without any issue now. :) Here's the new link for anyone who is interested:

Glad they were proactive about it.
If only my phone company was the same, instead of being proactive about ruining my data use.

dang i dont know what site i was on the other night but it didnt look like that.
i got the mini so nothing there for the mini but to be honest, out of all the devices i have, including the SDNA200 with DLSJVapes custom firmware/TCR curves, the target mini does temp control better and more correctly than any of them.

I mentioned earlier just HOW smooth the TC is on the mini. Glad someone else chimed in on that :D

Haven't abandoned the thread...due to recent changes at my phone company, I have had to watch my data usage more closely. Since I have yet to come across any problems with the Mini....not much to post :D
It works, and for what it is designed for, it works really well. Love the screen layout...no need to worry about left hand/right hand.
I have run about 20ml through the tank so far...still going strong.

So I am looking at buying my sister a birthday present. Its her first vaping device though she has tried and liked mine (cuboid, with vaporesso target tank) and heck I might even have to try some new gear of my own.

Which do you recommend I get, the Pro, or the Mini? Forgive me for asking questions which are probably already answered. I have a bunch of coils for my old vaporesso target tank will they work with the tanks that come with either the pro or the mini? I am thinking the mini built in battery might be better for her because she wont be requiring a seperate charger, or is it considered safer these days for her to USB charge an 18650 while its in the mod?

Anything else I should consider before buying?

*edit*
After talking to her I am getting the impression she would like a better battery life, but I am still wondering if getting a battery charger is a must, or is it considered safe to charge via USB now?

The coils you have will work with the pro, but not the mini.....
Things to consider....the pro is a removable 18650 battery mod...so if longevity is a factor, opt for that one. The mini is, simply put, tiny, so if size is a factor, opt for that one...or one of each pro for you, mini for sister :D

Seriously, dont think you can go wrong either way. Haven't used the pro yet, but I would bet you a dollar they operate very similar, and the mini does tc easy and smooooooth.
The mini is the most pocket friendly FULL featured mod I have seen yet.....ni, ti, ss AND adjustable tcr
But for a chain vaper, the pro would be the best bet

Oh...and generally, it is usually pretty safe charging a single battery mod via USB.

The 1400 mah lipo in the mini usually lasts me about 2 tanks of juice before needing a charge, running 500 degrees in tc mode, and seems to charge fairly fast...but a heavy user, with only one mod, would probably prefer the pro with an external charger and a few batteries so they can swap them out as needed.

I think Ive already decided on the Pro. It will compliment my Cuboid nicely, I have never even used temperature control but I am in love with the ceramic coils so buying a Vaporesso seems like an easy choice for me. I want her to be able to charge via USB, do you know if that is an option, or a bad idea?

*edit*
I see you answered that, and I dont think she will be a heavy user so I think the pro with a single battery will be enough to keep her happy :)

I'm honestly amazed by the TC of the mini. I've come to expect a certain type of vape off of preset modes...but this little guy exceeds all expectations out pf the box...haven't even needed to play with the tcr settings.

Being a captive battery mod....I may just recycle the board out of this when the battery goes....thinking it would make a nice regulated squonker:D

If you're handy with a soldering iron, it shouldn't be too hard to replace the battery. Just need to source a 1400mah 18350 sized lipo.

That would be my suggestion, too. It's great to be able to charge via USB, but if you only have one mod then a pair of batteries and a charger is ideal. That way you don't have to worry about having to wait to vape! :) I get more than a full day of use out of the Pro with an LG HG2 in it.
