How do these so-called tech repair people know that vaping is the culprit?

Did the people who bring in their machines tell the tech people beforehand that they are vapers, or do the tech people just look inside the machine, and then automatically conclude, "Aha! The damage must have been caused by vaping!"

I make a lot bigger clouds nowadays than I used to before, mostly due to the more powerful hardware that I currently use, and I do usually keep my windows open, so that things don't get too stuffy and cloudy in the room, but I do know one thing, and that is that I am just glad that it's not cig smoke that is getting into my computers and other appliances, because I've seen firsthand how bad that can be.

Having said that, ventilation is key, no matter if somebody smokes cigs or vapes.

thank you all for sharing your opinions and experiences.
a lot of ppl are wondering how the tech person concluded that the vape residue damaged the machine.
well, he didnt. he just simply told me what he was seeing. (the residue and rust inside my laptop)

i was just guessing if the residue has damaged my laptop. thats why i posted this thread for more info.
since my laptop is 5 years old, and i did accidentally pour a little drink onto the keyboard before, its unlikely that the rust was derived from the vape residue.
