Hello!

Does anyone have suggestions for retail sources for vaping supplies in the San Antonio, TX, area?

I know of three in San Antonio:

  • Your Vaping Store - Typical small store. A single glass display case of hardware. Pretty much Joyetech/Joyetech-compatible only. A less-than-impressive selection of e-liquid with minimal samples available. The salesperson I interacted with yesterday was friendly, but her lack of retail skills and lack of knowledge of her own products was breathtaking. The owner, Ann, however, is very nice and very willing to take time with customers. Not much of a web site. Prices are quite high.
  • Thanks for Vaping - Similarly typical small store. A single glass display case of hardware. Mostly Joyetech/Joyetech-compatible. A decent selection of e-liquid. The sampling experience was good, both from the point of view of selection and from the willingness of the staff to put up with the endless sampling requests of a newbie. The staff I encountered was reasonably knowledgeable and eager to help. Decent web site, though it doesn't list all the products they carry. Finding the store the first time is a challenge, as it's located deep in an unusual office park. Some of the best prices I've seen from a brick-and-mortar store. For now, this will be my main local supplier.
  • Vaporessence - I haven't visited this one yet. The design of their online store is less than promising, however.

One honorable mention up in Round Rock:

  • All About Vapor - I've not seen another store like this. The focus is on custom-blended e-liquid. It feels like a compounding pharmacy. You take a number and wait to be called by one of the half-dozen staff members working inside a bullpen behind the horseshoe-shaped counter. From their ridiculously long list of custom flavors, you can ask to sample up to five flavors per visit. When you make your selection, your choice is blended right in front of you. Though I haven't asked, I imagine they'd go off the menu and mix something truly custom to your specifications. In all, a unique experience. They also sell hardware (mostly Joyetech), and they are very willing to advise you on how to get started vaping, but the emphasis is less on hardware sales than in typical stores. Prices are a bit on the high side.

Thanks!
Ross

Thanks, Hillbillie. I guess I was asking both: for options I had missed and for recommendations regarding the best choices. While offering my impressions. I just moved to San Antonio from Round Rock at the same time I was beginning vaping, so I don't know the lay of the land down here.

Yes, I imagine there must be some options in Austin. All Abut Vapor, the one in Round Rock I mentioned, would fit that bill. I suppose I should look into what else is up there.

Thanks!

I do miss SA. Use to live right next to the Medical City area. Loved the city hated the traffic on 410. Hong Fongs Chinese, Taco Taco, Caparellies Italian (probably misspelled), My fav tobacoo shop was in the Quarry Mall. The Pappus brothers had a ton of restaurants there. I gained like 60 lbs when I moved there. LOL

I suppose it might have been a good idea for me to search the forums before posting my question.

The only other San Antonio storefront I've found is Supreme Smoke at 5807 Babcock. It's really a head shop, but they have one case of somewhat overpriced eGo gear and some e-liquid. (But if you need a glass .... . . .)

steved5600, the food is one of the best parts of moving here. All the cheap hole-in-the-wall Mexican joints could be very dangerous for me.

Thanks,
Ross

Hello fellow San Antonians..

Vaporessence is a pretty cool store. It's been months since I've been there. I got a liquinator tank there for the same price they were charging online. They were about to carry silver bullets. I called later and they were charging 150.00. Better off getting them from the site. Really big selection of e juice and they are nice about sampling.

That's great to hear that thanks for vaping guy has a store front now. When I was new I wrote the guy and he actually had me come over to his house for a bit. He only had a couple things, nice guy. Glad he is expanding.

Greetings

As the saying goes, don't judge a book by its cover.

The guys at Vaporescence (not Vaporessence) in San Antonio are awesome. Not only are they very knowledgeable of their products, but about vaping in general. They are more than happy to have you sample their products, and leave you feeling like you're talking to an old friend, rather than a salesman.

In regards to their products, I could damn near open my own Vaporescence store with all the many flavors we've already bought in the last few months. They have a huge selection, and seem to have new ones each time we go in. The guys who manage the store in San Antonio also help create new flavors.

We bought our Ego-T's at Thanks For Vaping, before Vaporescence came to town. Although he had a very nice set up in a former apartment turned office complex, I wasn't real impressed with Randy, the owner. He comes across as .. well .. a bit of a cheesy car salesman. Very fake, way over the top, and at times, a bit condescending. We are happy, for the most part, with the Ego-T, but his E-Liquid selection, at the time, didn't impress either one of us. I did see that he sells China based Dekang, and have been told never to buy E-Liquid sold out of China because they add harmful chemicals. If this is untrue, I welcome the feedback.

May not have the same comfort at Vaporescence, but at least there you are treated genuinely, you can actually learn a thing or two (or everything) about vaping, and leave with something tasty. And so ya know .. Vaporescence has 3 or 4 other stores in Texas and Oklahoma. Their owners must be doing something right.

Another site we order from, because my fiance is crazy about their Atomic Fireball, is DFW Vaping, located in the Dallas area. Great website, loaded with hundreds of actual customer reviews of a HUGE assortment of flavors. Check them out here: The Best US E-Liquid Made | DFWvapor.com, The Best US E-Liquid Made!
