Does anyone have suggestions for retail sources for vaping supplies in the San Antonio, TX, area?
I know of three in San Antonio:
- Your Vaping Store - Typical small store. A single glass display case of hardware. Pretty much Joyetech/Joyetech-compatible only. A less-than-impressive selection of e-liquid with minimal samples available. The salesperson I interacted with yesterday was friendly, but her lack of retail skills and lack of knowledge of her own products was breathtaking. The owner, Ann, however, is very nice and very willing to take time with customers. Not much of a web site. Prices are quite high.
- Thanks for Vaping - Similarly typical small store. A single glass display case of hardware. Mostly Joyetech/Joyetech-compatible. A decent selection of e-liquid. The sampling experience was good, both from the point of view of selection and from the willingness of the staff to put up with the endless sampling requests of a newbie. The staff I encountered was reasonably knowledgeable and eager to help. Decent web site, though it doesn't list all the products they carry. Finding the store the first time is a challenge, as it's located deep in an unusual office park. Some of the best prices I've seen from a brick-and-mortar store. For now, this will be my main local supplier.
- Vaporessence - I haven't visited this one yet. The design of their online store is less than promising, however.
One honorable mention up in Round Rock:
- All About Vapor - I've not seen another store like this. The focus is on custom-blended e-liquid. It feels like a compounding pharmacy. You take a number and wait to be called by one of the half-dozen staff members working inside a bullpen behind the horseshoe-shaped counter. From their ridiculously long list of custom flavors, you can ask to sample up to five flavors per visit. When you make your selection, your choice is blended right in front of you. Though I haven't asked, I imagine they'd go off the menu and mix something truly custom to your specifications. In all, a unique experience. They also sell hardware (mostly Joyetech), and they are very willing to advise you on how to get started vaping, but the emphasis is less on hardware sales than in typical stores. Prices are a bit on the high side.
Thanks!
