long answer:
would you whip out an injector, some tubes and some tobacco and make a cigarette on a flight that did not allow smoking? Were you always lighting up a cigarette in inappropriate places when you did smoke? Do you whip out a nail clippers whenever the urge arises and trim your fingernails wherever you happen to be? Do you also drive around with your windows down and the tunes cranked so you can share your taste in music with everyone? Because, you know, we're all real interested and understand what that song says about who you are, and we can all share in the emotional response you have to that song...

I think we are all just having fun with the idea.

Having Fun?

I think it would be a Great Time saver for the Busy Traveler. Who wants to sit in some Hotel Room building a RBA?

Heck, next time I fly, I'm thinking about doing DIY in a Window Seat.

Had a co-worker once who did this, toenails too ...

The clippings would sometimes fly over the partition into my cube ...

I politely requested that he refrain from personal grooming at work, that was ineffective ... :(

So I dropped one of his nail clippings into my Starbucks Frappuccino bottle, slammed it on his desk, and demanded that he pay for another one ...

Problem solved ... :D

Air Marshall: what the hell were you doing? Building a bomb?!?

You: no! I swear it was just a coil for my rba!

Air Marshall: what do you think Mack? (Looks at partner)

Mack: I think he is lying, look how sweaty he is.

You: I'm sweaty because it's 120 degrees in here and you've gotthree 200w lightbulbs a foot from my face.

Air Marshall: save it for the judge.

You: I Sure hope the judge has an apv.

6992 kilometers from home...
It isn't even about getting in trouble with the law or being questioned. There are passengers who will act, like myself, if they see someone who appears to be fiddling with a bomb and not ask questions first. I'd be more worried about them, than legal issues or issues with the airline...
