No matter what nic level you use, it's easy to control the amount you absorb at any given time. If you puff and exhale, nic absorption is going to be low. The lungs don't absorb much since the droplets in the mist don't make it down to the small bronchial alveoli. If you want to absorb more, hold it in your mouth for a few seconds and then exhale. For even more nic, hold it in your mouth, then inhale just far enough to be able to exhale slowly through your nose. You will bring even more mucous membranes into play.

Vapor in the lungs does little besides irritate the lungs, although doing so does recreate the act of smoking a cigarette.

I tend to chain vape at home on the weekends. At work, I can't because they no longer allow me to use it indoors. I go outside about every 30 minutes for two or three quick puffs and then come back in. That's the advantage of vaping. You don't have to sit out there for 10 or 15 minutes waiting to go through a whole analog cigarette. If you need a nicotine hit, you can get it fast and easy and then get back to work.

I do agree that it's easy to get obsessed with vaping. I am one of those people. I have been doing it for about a year. Hopefully that will pass.

Something that isn't apparent at first when you start vaping is the fact that you CAN quit after vaping for a short while and not experience the withdrawal symptoms that you experience cold turkey. You have the hand to mouth habit and that's satisfied with ecigs. Ecigs replace the nicotine and the rest is just easy as long as you continue to vape.

I vaped and smoked for two years until one day when I decided to quit smoking. I had cut my intake from over 40 a day down to about 6 or 8 for that period. I started vaping while smoking my after meal cigarettes and discovered during the comparison that my ecig tasted good and the cigarette tasted like crap. Once I made that connection it became apparent that I wanted to get rid of the nasty tasting cigs. It's been two years since my last cig and I have yet to experience a desire to smoke, even when others were smoking around me.

I have a friend who is trying to give up smoking, and we started her on 12mg juice. I forgot that she is a 'closet smoker' and only runs outside for quick hits. She couldn't give up the analogs until I made her a much, much stronger juice - she needed the nic hit and wasn't getting it from the lower mg, even though she only smoked a half pack of ultra lights previously.

It's different for different people - I chain vape and started at 12mg - never needed another analog. But if I hadn't initially chain vaped I doubt that strength would have worked for me :p

I used to be a 20-30 a day roll up smoker and started vaping at 24mg, that was in November but quickly dropped the nic volume and now sit at 0.6mg. I tend to vape about the same amount as i used to smoke but when i drink i notice that i pull harder and get through more juice and it doesn't matter if i swap to a higher nic level either.

I started off vaping exactly like I smoked, taking "vape breaks" outside every hour or so using 24mg. It helped me a lot to just drop them right in place of analogs while I went through the rough parts of the transition. After a while, I knocked down the nic to 12mg and started vaping more often.

I don't quite chain vape though. I take a few puffs and put it down, then 5-10 minutes later the PV magically ends up in my hand again so I take a few more. I've never really kept track of the time, but it's about the same as I spent smoking.
