ive spent the last last 7 years working in southern china and ive noticed this

its the culture and lifestyle of the china chinese

in China, smoking represents the class he belongs to in the society

the more expensive cigarettes u smoke, the higher class u are

a common habit ive noticed in dinners u have , when someone takes out a packet to smoke, he will first distribute the cigs he have to his friends (sometimes throwing across the table) before lighting his own.

Back in the olden days, when I was growing up, you always handed out cigarettes to friends - it was the polite thing to do!:p

Those olden days, it was considered polite

but in china, i think its kind of a "social status" thingie. when someone is tossing ciggies which cost RMB100 per pack, people around would go "WOW!!!!"

considering the average salary of a normal worker in china is approx RMB2000

So much for a classless society!!

I agree, it must be much more expensive to vape. They don't have sin taxes.

I was asking some friends at work (vapers) about vapes in China, since our company does a lot of our business there. He reinforced the same point I believe some have already made, which is there's no reason to switch to e-cigs when analog's not frowned upon like it is here in the US.
Next time someone from the office heads out that way, I'm giving them a shopping list of hardware to bring back for me! Usually it's Beats headphones...

I am in China now. I'll be in Beijing mostly, but i'm in TaiYuan now. I haven't seen any vapes, or cigalikes. Smoking isn't frowned upon here like it is in the states. And a pack costs less than a dollar. It is seen as a status symbol though if you can afford the $10.00 packs of ciggs. People smoke everywhere, so there's no incentive to quit. There are no warnings on packs and I don't think people are as aware of how awful smoking is for people. I'll keep looking though. I think I will have luck at the stalls in the Beijing Silk Market that sell pipes and ....s and stuff.

Chinese in developed areas are subjected to pollution levels that make moking downright healthy in comparison
China is easygoing on smokers doesn't treat 'em like lepers.
Chinese paying probably a lot less for a pack of cigs than then folks in the western hemisphere.

There smokers ARE treated like leapers, smokers DO pay major $$$ for tobacco products.

I save money, I live less unhealthy, I get my nic fix...BT only got the nic fix...
3 : 1

Only way the can 'win' that game is by tilting the playing field - which they're working on hard and fast...
