I find this completely wrong. I am not smoking anything and I will not be grouped with people that still smoke, Burn, tobacco or use tobacco in any form.

If we, as a group, a community, allow this thing of grouping us in with people that still Burn tobacco it will only reinforce the ANTZ and the general opinion that it is the same. It isn't.

Let the News media call it whatever they like but WE have to stop calling it, referring to it as, E-Cigarettes.

What I'm vaping right now doesn't look anything like a cigarette.

Of course all of the above is my opinion and how I deal with it. YMMV.

It really doesn't matter what we call it... Anything that resembles the act of smoking, no matter any obvious difference, has become socially unacceptable in most public areas.

No matter how safe and wonderful we believe these devices are... It's naive to think public usage deserves any more tolerance than lighting up a smoke at this stage. We have such a long way to go to reach a level of social acceptance that differentiates vaping from smoking.

Education of the greater majority of non-smokers and non-vapers will take time... We must remember that while vaping and it's by-products may be hundreds of times in magnitude safer than tobacco smoke... it still is not 100% safe or inert which therefore enables you to vape anywhere.

The facts of that matter are still not yet determined. The act of breathing isn't 100% safe either. Every time you exhale you expel carbon dioxide along with body fluids, moisture, in the form of vapor. Just exhale on a cool piece of glass to see it. And not to mention if you are sick with a cold or have some type of infectious disease your breath will carry that to others.

So what do we all do, Not Breath when in a library? No wonder no one goes to them anymore.

I'm not too worried right now. I've seen the controller a few more times through the day already and he's been fine, hasn't said anything else.

Sounds like it's cool and that you are good to go.

Before reading this, I was torn between suggesting to let it go and simply not worry about what is out of your hands and alternative suggestion of becoming proactive and going to management with idea of wanting to educate staff about eCigs and how it can prevent / reduce smoking/smoker's breaks. Either way, I was aiming for having you feel less worried, and as you are already there, then my suggestions are likely unnecessary.

P.S. Hope last night's storms in the midwest weren't too rough on you all to the south. Looked nasty on radar.

This message may work for someone in there first couple weeks of vaping. As one who's done it for over 2.5 years and has vaped in public and experienced far more tolerance than lighting up a smoke, I disagree with your assertion.

Education of the greater majority of non-smokers and non-vapers will take time... We must remember that while vaping and it's by-products may be hundreds of times in magnitude safer than tobacco smoke... it still is not 100% safe or inert which therefore enables you to vape anywhere.

Education by casual demonstration (vape like you belong there) with respect, is IMO, the best chance of educating the masses. We talk about vaping all the time (here on ECF, likely in our own neck of the woods), and yet there is propaganda battle that counters our words. But the act of vaping is hard to dismiss and impossible to treat as on par with smoking. None of my non-smoking friends have issue with distinguishing between the two and I would say highly prefer that I vape in their presence (usually indoors on their property) than if I were to suddenly think it is now okay to smoke in those same locations.

If I went anywhere seeking 100% safety in all that I did, I can't think of anything that I would be able to do, and that includes 'doing nothing.'

Yeah things are good at work now, I have my devices out on my bench and he never said anything after.

Yeah the storms were intense. Just a lot of thunder and lightning as I'm just west of Chicago, but the north west suburbs for some strong winds, but I didn't see any damage on my drive to work or that way today. But as usual, tornado warnings in the southern suburbs across I80 areas.
