I use various set-ups while driving. I normally carry at least two batteries with different flavors on each so I can swap easily. I don't find it difficult to use larger manual batteries while driving, so I never really considered it a safety issue. That's saying something coming from a woman with a panic disorder. I'm usually imagining at least three ways I could die at any given moment.

...

I've been paranoid about police thinking it's something else but never even thought about safety until a couple weeks ago, was stopped in traffic and hit from behind real hard and pushed me into the next guy in front of me. I had just vaped off my ego with vv2 5 secs before.

I will say it hasn't stopped me but it really has got me thinking about having 7 inches of metal up by my face or in my mouth while driving with an airbag that blows up in one one hundredth of a second right in front of it. It's a risk I guess, but so is riding a motorcycle, I'd be dead for sure if I was on a bike that day but I'm not going around telling people to trade their bikes for big trucks or vans.

:glare:

Great, now I've got a new one.
Airbag goes off and PV gets jammed right through my eyesocket.

What an awful image. Hold your PVs to the side, guys and gals!

I used to smoke the most when I was driving; As much as twice the amount of analogs than normal, on long trips. So when I'm driving I use analog look-alikes, cause they seem to be the safest while driving. Does anyone else vape while they're driving, and if so, what kind of PV do you use? Is it safe to drive?
I'm also a little paranoid about drawing attention from police cars, since my ecigs are pink and might be mistaken for who knows what other kind of device. Am I the only paranoid one in this particular aspect?

My PVs are also pink. But I vape just the same while driving. I don't find it any more dangerous than smoking while driving, less so because I don't have to light up. I've vaped next to cop cars before, and the only attention I ever got was a cop holding up his ego for me to see, accompanied by a wink.

I vape while driving my semi, with a 13 speed manual transmission, pulling oversize loads down the highway. Surely you can manage it in your car.
Now there's a challenge for all those scared 4-wheelers out there !!

Vapers just have to stop being worried about what others might think !!

If every one would openly vape in public ...
This forum "E-cigarettes in public" wouldn't even exist.
Like I drink coffee in public
:p

I've got no problem using my vmax while driving. I don't even try to hid it if a trooper or PD goes by. However I did have some strange looks when I was using my nebulizer in the car. I still laugh about that. I got turned in for smoking (OTHER STUFF) or something. Just laughed and kept on doing my breathing treatment.

I make a point to be vaping when I see a cop, It would crack me up if they actually did something about it.

LOL...it's funny because I actually did get pulled over yesterday evening coming home from work. He totally thought I was puffing down on some kind of drug pipe initially. He ended up being quite interested in my eGO DCT as he is a smoker himself. Told him I had been using it for three days and had been smoke free for those three days and that I was a 2 PAD smoker prior to my e-cig. I think he'll be looking into them more closely.

I have panic disorder, too! So you know how I feel when I'm driving; like everyone's headed straight for my tiny lil car. But in our defense, "Paranoia is total awareness." ;)
I did start vaping on my mini mods recently. At least with them I'm pretty comfortable. My hands are about the size of a 12 yr old girl's, and the mini mods are a perfect fit.
A lot of these things do depend on the state and area one lives in. I assume the truckers who have posted travel interstate, (yes?) so that gives me a lil confidence that locale isn't as much of a big deal as I think it is. In my area, even in my neighborhood, you honestly have to be ready to stop on a dime... I actually had my only accident a mere 45 second drive from my house. Plus, there are stop signs up the wazoo around me where the cops hang out, but they're usually busy with the tons of people in my neighborhood who routinely go thru the stop signs. So I guess it's just an internal battle for me. Thx for all the thumbs-ups to give it a go!

I vape and drive all the time. I also blatantly vaped sitting next to our local sheriff at a stop light, just to see what would happen. He gave me a smile and a thumbs up and proceeded turn the corner. :)

Nice! I guess I shouldn't be so paranoid; Cops are people, too. I have to say, with the mini mods (perfect for my hands), it's just like smoking, maybe even safer so... I'll wear them on a lanyard around my neck so I can drop them in a hurry in case I have to. Don't think I'd be able to drive and vape with my vtube. It's the short model, but still large for me. I guess there is a big difference in configuration between PVs and "other" devices.

I keep mine on a lanyard all the time anyway, but I find it especially helpful in the car. It's always there, no temptation to take your eyes off the road, and no fumbling around trying to find it. I think the cops are pretty well aware of these things at this point. I've noticed several cops in my area now use them themselves. If they ask you... do as you would with anyone else. Sure, a traffic stop is a hassle, but it'll help the next guy. And they can't write you a ticket for a PV.

True, true. Guess I should think about it as an educational opportunity if I get pulled over, if it could help someone else in the future. :)

A former LEO told me about being pulled over for using his PV...seems the 'blue light' on/in a vehicle is restricted in certain states, and the end of his 'BLU'...well, it's blue! If it was you or I, we could have been given a ticket for 'displaying a blue light' while driving, especially if that LEO was one of the 'anti-tobacco' zealots.

I switched from a blue-LED 510 to a lava tube, and need to find a suitable lanyard for when I'm driving 4-wheels.

AHH! Did not know that! Good information. I used to use one with a blue tip when I first started vaping. Didn't use it long, maybe a month. I use a Twist now. But one of my other batteries has a button the glows blue. It would be under my finger, but I'm sure they could press the point if they really wanted to.
