Thanks so much for sharing your findings tonyorion!

Vapemate Modding tip: If one is handy, take a 1/4 drill bit and funnel the top air/drain back hole. if you don't have a drill you can even do it by hand, by just hand lapping the drill bit back and forth. A funnel no more then 1/4 wide is all you would want, anywider and you may go too deep.

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on the vapemate and I saw the modification that David is speaking about above. Is this really necessary, and if so, why not offer it this way in the first place? No animus intended...just a little confused as to why I would need to do this to for the vapemate to work properly or am I over analyzing this and should shut-up and order.

cheers and thanks,

No you are not over analyzing, Some juices don't drain as well and it helps with that. It isn't offered in the current batch as they are already machined in their original configuration. It's a mod to do if you need it, but isn't always necessary depending on what type of juice you use. You'll have to experiment a bit with your juices you vape.

I use mostly 100% VG Juice sometimes 80%VG and I have no issues at all and love these Vapemates even just got another from David. The only thing I like to mod a bit differently is my tube in the bottle. Instead of using the stock tube I much prefer 1/8 tubing. I ream out the bottles tip from underneath a little bit until I can sneak my 1/8 tubing up into the tip. For some reason using this smaller 1/8" tubing creates a better pressure in the bottle and keeps it a bit stiffer when pushing and it feeds better for me this way. A lot of times I find I dont even have to squeeze the bottle and it just self feeds the exact amount of liquid too. Either way you prefer though, the Vapemate is a necessary tool in my vaping arsenal...!

I'd say its better to have it by far. I vape a wide variety of juices (DIY, whatever Mrs T's are made of, Virgin Vaper pure VG, Deknag pure PG, etc) and there was always juice in my cup.

I am having the mod done, my metal guy modded the mod a bit and put some other kind of metal in there to make the whole thing very funnel-like and is now working on re-anodizing/painting/whatever it. He swears you can pour oatmeal in it now and it will go down the hole. I've been without my vapemate for almost 2 weeks now, hope its all worth the down time.

I've also asked him to install some kind of LED over the window so I can use it when its dark. He says he's not sure if he can find a compact way to do it. Do you have any suggestions forcedfuel50?
