Hey there everyone- Been vaping for a year, so not new, but new to a forum and this issue.

I have an IStick Pico S... not even 6 months old. Even though the battery is fully charged (tried several) it will not turn on per normal. But when the battery is taken out and put back in the following happens....
It will not work when the fire button is pressed, but when you hit the adjustment buttons it starts to smoke by itself for about 8 seconds, gets really hot, then says “OVER 10 S PROTECTION” then it shuts back off. It is currently set to 50 but I cannot adjust it due to it causing it to fire. You can smell the coil burning as it smokes.

All batteries were fully charged and the tank was about 2/3 full.

ThAnk you

Sounds like the board has failed (perhaps some juice leaked/seeped into the mod?). You could attempt to take it apart and clean the board with isopropyl, but I'd say bin it and just get another mod.
Well crap! I just showed my fiancé what was going on when he got home and you could actually see the coil getting red hot. my luck

Thank you so much! I assumed it was done but wasn’t hoping there was a chance!

Picos are usually very reliable. My four are still working well after intermittent use for several years. I have a Pico S in the delivery stream from Fasttech as we speak. I hope yours was a fluke failure and not a design issue.

I agree that it's probably a bad board. Maybe mine will last longer in the 10W to 15W range I vape in. It's a shame to hear that yours failed. The overall design looks great and I like the 18650/21700 feature.
