Well mine has a status update today and it is activity from 24 hours ago. No more delays but too bad they could not have put both on the same truck or plane.

Expected Delivery Day: Monday, March 20, 2017

March 17, 2017 , 7:38 pm In Transit to Destination

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the "In Transit to Destination" is a status that's automatically generated by the tracking system when there has been no movement of the package in 18 hours. Here's a Reddit thread where a USPS employee explains this status in detail.

I peeked at your threads before and they are a bit too old for me to consider and that is what I always see lately when it is on it's way to New York from other parts of the country. Since the 1st of the year I have had probably 10 deliveries and even though it has changed since last year I am not worried in the slightest. I have a slow mover and that is par for the course and if it doesn't say arrived in NY by Monday I might get concerned but I can pretty much guarantee that Monday it will move like greased lighting in a matter of hours like it has for everyone lately. Or at least do the bulk upload of statuses like it has where it goes from the in transit to arrived at 2-3 local Post Offices or sorting centers and shows at my Post Office before out for delivery.

I submitted an inquiry via the USPS website on Saturday and received a phone call yesterday afternoon, which I found a bit odd, considering that it was Sunday. The USPS employee who called me was extremely rude and wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise. She stated that the USPS will take as long as they want to get the package to me (this is a direct quote), while acting like she was doing me a big favor. I decided not to press the issue and ended the call. Imagine my surprise when I tracked the package earlier this morning and saw that it left Chicago at 6:52 a.m. I'm usually cynical when it comes to these things, but it's quite possible that submitting an inquiry may have triggered the package to move. I still don't have an estimated delivery date (the status now reads that the package is delayed and will not be delivered by the scheduled date), but at least it appears to be out of Chicago.

Usually if I have a problem it is with Chicago ISC, they have held stuff there for a week before moving, more than once. I just try to wait it out. It seems whenever I start to do tracking updates via text or e-mail it takes that much longer. maybe their way of saying "now your going to wait longer ha ha".

isnt the Chicago area USPS one of the US Customs check points??

Yeah. I dont know what determines what city (customs) you get when your shipped something from overseas. The three I know of just from tracking orders are NY, SF and Chicago. I usually get Chicago or NY. Chicago is the worst. It should be the best location for me sense Im in Kansas City, but it takes longer from the Chicago check point than it does when it comes out of NY or SF.

I presume it depends on the routing of the plane on which a package has been loaded, or, if it's coming by land, which ISC is closest to the border crossing. Of course, when weather is factored in, the shipments could go anywhere.

My package cleared the Chicago ISC quickly, but was stuck at 60701 for a week. Ironically, after the package started moving yesterday morning, it has been progressing very quickly. It arrived at the local distribution facility a few hours ago, which means that I should receive it tomorrow. Here's to hoping that no one's future orders ever end up at 60701.
