Vamo only reads "lo" when firing.

Last Saturday night, I managed to drop my precious SS Vamo, and broke the minus button. No longer clicks. I pulled the top cap off to attempt a repair, but my soldering skills aren't nearly good enough to swap out that tiny little switch.

I could survive without using the minus button, so I put it all back together.

Only now, when I hit the fire button, all it does is pop up "lo" on the screen. No mention of volts or ohms, just lo.

Resistance check still works, battery voltage still works if I poke the broken button with a paperclip.

Tried with a Vivi Nova, Boge carto, and a CE5. Same results. Tried 4 different 18350 batteries, and an 18650. Same results.

In the market for something to replace it, but would still like to get it working as a backup.

Any idea what error it is having? No mention in the manual, and no luck searching, either.

i think "lo" (low ohms)means its detecting to low of ohms on the atty to fire,might have pinched a wire to the 510 when you put the cover back on top?

Sorry this happened to you. I don't take mine out of the house at all, and it sits in the stand at the couch. I should say it never leaves the carpeted area by the couch. I only take the ProVari or the REO's out because they will never break.

This is why I consider the chinese made ones disposables, once they break, you are out all that money. Sorry I can't be of help here, but bumping it for you so maybe someone else can help.

The strange part is that doesn't read lo ohms, just lo. I tried shorting the contacts, and firing. The protection kicks on, and displays 'lo ohms'.

Seriously considering going rebuildable mechanical. Now just to find something cheap that works with 18350s.

smok The Natural with a few modifications and a Aga T2 is quite the unbeatable combo for relatively little money. You could add a simple dripper like the Octopus rda to fool around with while learning setting up the Aga.

An AGA-T was supposed to be next on my list. I've been rebuilding Nova heads for a few months now, time to step up the game.

I do really like The Natural, I'll have to keep an eye out for that one.

This very thing happened to me. It turned out that the fall broke the battery inside and not the Vamo itself.

Checked with 5 different batteries, made no difference. Pretty sure it's dead. Bummer.

Personally if budget is limited I'd suggest another Vamo. Yep, that was probably a 1 in a million shot that did it in. That and you not able to diagnose the issue.
Many, many people have reported their Vamos taking severe falls with little to no damage resulting.
Because we see cheap junk from China does not mean all Chine product is junk. eVic - Vamo - Sigelei Zmax are some of the better products in the e-cig line.
We used to say that about everything from Japan, then Taiwan and next it will be.............

Anyway since your Vamo is usless as is, it can't hurt to pop the top off again and do some snooping. Do a full disassemble.

Well, I've taken it apart and put it back together maybe 10 times.

Still no luck. Into the trash it goes, and I placed an order for a full mechanical.

I have a vamo, and also my next step was going to be a mechanical.. even the natural. I all ready have an AGA-T, and they look great on the natural. I have a sticky button on my VAMO, the (+) does not click. I might watch the video and see if i can clean switch contacts. Just to say, sorry for your loss.

note: DV was my goto site for the natural, alas they are out atm. MV has them instock, just placed an order for the natural

just got a Segelei ZMax to replace vamo, since i have to mail it back for the (+) button not working... VV/VW still in my house whilst i wait for usps. DV has allways done me very well.

Dang...........you could mod the Vamo into a Mechanical

Well crap, I just figured out the simple way to test for the problem. Guess it's to late if you trashed it.

If not, pull the head and attach any device to it. Fire the Vamo to see if it reads Lo
If so, CUT either wire going to the head. Center wire preferred.
Again Press the button.

If it reads Lo - the chip is damaged
If it does nothing - The top is shorted

Same things happened to me here.. Someone dropped my Vamo, the + buttom, screen and the fire button is recess now due to the impact, only read Lo Ohm now.. If the chip is damaged, anyway to repair it?
