Hi there, please help me. I was using Vaptio Cosmo 2 for a while. However, after moving to the US, I broke my Vaptio mod: but Vaptio doesn't do their business in the US anymore. I saw an article from ECF, and people were saying you can use a tank on a different band's mod under that article, so I bought a Vapresso gen fit 40 mod (both the mod and the Vaptio tank are 510 thread). Unfortunately, when I connected the two, Vapresso mod couldn't trigger the Vaptio tank. Do you have any thoughts about this issue? Thanks!

Hi Tony93 and welcome to ECF.

Yes, you can use different manufacturers tanks and RBA's on other mods. I do it all the time with my RBA's and collection of mods.

When you connect your Vaptio tank does the Vaporesso Gen Fit 40 see the tank when you press the Fire button?

You should see the resistance of your Vaptio tank on the Gen Fit display. Like so...

If the mod doesn't see your tank... make sure your coil is properly installed and clean the 510 pin on your Vaptio tank then try it again.

If your Gen Fit still does not see the Vaptio tank - - - Do you have another tank, different brand, to try on your Vaporesso Gen Fit 40? You need to try another tank on the mod to make sure the mod is working correctly.

Perhaps the Vaporesso Gen Fit 40 is defective.

My other thought is that perhaps the 510 on the Vaptio tank isn't making a connection with the 510 pin on the Vaporesso mod. In other words, maybe the Vaptio tank 510 is too short.

To determine if they are making a solid connection......

Measure the length of the Vaptio 510 pin.

Then measure the depth of the 510 connector on the Gen Fit.

Then measure the depth of the 510 connector on the Gen Fit.

If the 510 pin is too short, try using a flat head screwdriver to lengthen the pin. Just give the pin a 1/4 to 1/2 turn counterclockwise.

From the photos I was looking at on the Vaptio website their tanks do not have screws in the 510's.

The 510 is like the tanks of old.

I guess that's what you get with a pod rta. In that case, if the 510 pin is too short, then that device won't work on the Vaporesso Gen mod. When it comes to the pod mods and their atties, they are only designed to work within their system, but sometimes they can work with other mods. The key word is sometimes.

We haven't heard back from the OP so don't know where things stand with his Gen mod and Vaptio tank.

Hi, great thanks for the reply :)

When I connect my Vaptio tank to the Vaporesso mod, the mod detects and shows the wrong ohm of the Vaptio coil.

Also when I press the fire button with the Vaptio tank installed, the display shows "short atomizer". Is there any chance to work around?

Btw, the Vaporesso can work with its own tank well.

    Thanks!

If your mod is showing the wrong ohms for your factory coil then the coil is likely at fault.

Make sure your coil is properly seated. If it still doesn’t work, try another coil. If a new coil works, you just got a bum coil which happens from time to time.

I've never used a Vaptio Cosmo, but the 510 pin looks similar to an Ego One tank. Sometimes the 510 pin on that tank will get pushed up into the base a little and won't make contact with the mod. You can unscrew the coil from the base and put a small screwdriver in the hole that the coil was in, and push the 510 pin down from the top. I don't know if that will work with the Vaptio, but it's worth a try.
