upgrading from e cigg pen --- vamo v5 vs itaste svd?

i'm upgrading from white cloud e cigg pen and i was considering going with a spinner or evod but i really like the idea of having batteries that i can swap out so i dont have any down time on charging the whole device.

how easy will it be to use the vamo v5 or itaste svd?

is either of them a good choice for a full time vape? (i wont have any other devices )

if you don't like either of these what would you suggest?

i've heard great things about the mvp's but i just don't think i can get into the box type e cigg, just not my style :/


so yeah any suggestions would be great i'm dying to place an order online but i'm having such a hard time deciding what to get!! id like to stay under $100 too preferably closer to $50 thanks

I too thought the box mod wasn't mod wasn't my style...but I've come to love it...fits nicely in my cup holder in my car. I had MVP 2.0 since last November, and finally retired it with Cloupor Cana DNA 30 clone...but that fits my vaping needs.

With the Vamo v5 and Itaste SVD...I'm sure they are both great devices, but inevitable..both have their quirks...

Could you tell us what kind of toppers you primarily plan on using (Kanger, Aspire, etc)..

You could always buy something under $50 like MVP, SVD, I think Vamo goes for dirt cheap if you have the patience from China..then save up for something built to last like Provari 2.5 /3.0 coming out one day...I don't even own one but I recommend it for people who Vape a specific way...I've seen one in person, they are pretty high quality device and highly loved by their users.
But remember, with SVD, Vamo, and Provari..you will need two batteries, a reliable charger, etc...

Had the same questions last week. Didn't want to spend much money so I had to search a lot and think what I wanted the most (you can't have it all without going expensive).

What I wanted was battery life so I went for iTaste MVP V2.0. It also works as a powerbank for your devices like phone/tablet. You can also vape while it charges and it has 2600mAh battery. I love it.

I own an older Vamo and an SVD. My advice is to roll with MVP 2.0. It's a better vape, more versatile, and more cost effective.

I've owned both the Vamo and SVD and I'd choose the latter just because the build quality of the Vamo is poor. The Vamo hits a bit harder but if it were my everday device, I doubt it would last more the 3-4 months. Meanwhile I put the SVD through the ringer for a year and it still works like brand new.

Conclusion: seriously consider the MVP / pass on the Vamo

If you like the the ego form you could get the VV3. The thing is it is an 800mAh battery and depending on how much you vape you could find yourself looking for a place to charge it. It does have pass thru so you could vape while charging and has variable voltage. The MVP is 2600mAh and will last a day or two before you need to charge. Like anything else it all depends on your needs and how much you want to spend. Good Luck!

Like both box and tube mods, can find 30 and 50 watt mods in both formats. There is just a lot of options to consider. Minimum 15 watt capable is minimum recommendation, but look at the 30 watt devices out, new vamo, chinabox30, 7 something, Tis a good time to upgrade.

I loved my SVD for a month or two till the button got a mind of its own and decides it wants to move around and turn off and on as it pleases. I switched to Mechanicals and still keep coils around 1.4 to 1.6 ohms. Got some two dollar 7 amp safety fuses and run 20 amp batteries. But you have to keep a manual eye on batteries and test or know when they need charged. Regulated as your main vape I also say a MVP. I have 15 different systems and the MVP is the most dependable for regulated mods. Plus you really do need more than one system. Keeps thing interesting switching around plus if one goes down you pickup the other one till you change coil or clean ect. Go out for the day I usually take a couple units with me then I don't have to haul around juice, burners, batteries ect. Good luck to you. CHEERS!

I have an mvp 2.0 and love it. The days of constantly thinking about how much charge is left and where I can charge my evod style battery are long gone. I would guess that with a ton of use, the mvp will get you through a day, easy. Moderate use, two days. The form factor is a little different, but you get used to it. There's a shine edition and skins out there if you to customize it.

They all have pros and cons, but there's some nice stuff out there now. You can't go wrong with any of the devices mentioned in this thread.

And your one of countless others that initially say the box shape is not for me , actually most say that but then they get it and do a complete about face , happens every time.

Check out the reviews from just one vendor below , close to 800 FIVE STAR reviews (775 to be exact) and most admit they have Vamo's , SVD's even Provari's but they still prefer the MVP , once you read a few pages of what people say in the reviews section it becomes clear what your choice should be ) yes it's that good.

Yup. Initially I was like, "I'm not buying some stupid box." Turns out I was just wrong. The power output of the MVP is so much clearer than the Vamo or SVD. And I love it's versatility. I travel to Spain for a month every year and the MVP is my go-to device because of the battery capacity and convenience. No hassles in the airport. When I'm on the road, I plug it into the cig lighter via usb cable.

I just saw that as well. They have teamed up with Evolve and are using what I'm guessing is an upgraded DNA20 because it can now step down in voltage. I would have liked to have seen something in the 50 watt range though. Now that would have been a treat.

I'm a Vamo fan, own 2 - V2s, V3, V5 they have all worked well. Wife has an SVD but has only had it for a couple of weeks. So I can't say much about the SVD.
A Vamo, pair of NCR18650PF batteries, Nitecore I2 charger and you are good to go for the day.

I have the MVP 2 and the Vamo 5. I like and dislike certain aspects about both of them and really couldn't choose between them. I use the MVP at home because it's clunky in my female hand and use the Vamo 5 for out and about.

both the SVD and Vamo have good points as well as bad points

Vamo has soft 510 threads... they will get sloppy in a few months
Vamos really hate being dropped... they dont fair well when dropped

the SVD has a chrome plated brass end cap ( for battery) and the chrome wears off the outside edge of it

Ive owned both and the SVD has been with me for better than 9 months, the vamos ( had 2 of them) only lasted 4 weeks and 3 weeks

I agree 100% with Bunnykiller. Soft brass threads on the Vamo and button issue on the SVD both are deal breakers. If this is the style you want get a Sigelei Zmax or the Smoke Zmax, both in the same price range. Both have the same features also. But if style is not important then the MVP 2 is the best of those choices.
