OK, this is going to sound strange...

But over the past couple of days I've noticed that the back to mid part of my tongue has changed from normal 'tongue' color to kinda brownish/greenish tinted.

Doesn't hurt.
Just looks weird as all get out.

I have been having some chain vape sessions lately with some darker colored liquid and I KNOW I'm not drinking enough water.
At the end of these chain vape sessions, my tongue feels dry and almost 'numb' sometimes...

This has never happened before.
Could this be because of vaping?

I'd post a pic, but I don't want to gross you all out...

Comments?
Thoughts?

Hard to say for sure, but something to think about for sure! That certainly is not normal, so I would put that juice aside for now and contact the manufacture! Often times the public sees recalls with food, so it is plaussable that their is, or can be an issue with your e-liquid! after all, the industry still is not regulated and problems can certainly arise!

In addition, you may want to slow down your chain vapping! To much of a good thing can be bad!

I think you have answered your own question. Maybe you should use something like biotene (sp) during these chain vaping sessions and try to sip on some liquid too.

Hey Lettucehead (LOVE the cat w/lettuce hat!) ... I had the identical thing happen to me when I first began vaping. And even though it's scarier than all get out, here's what caused it: Lack of hydration. If you don't drink enough water while you vape, your mouth does dry out, and the lack of moisture on your tongue causes bacteria to form that is normally washed away by saliva or water. When it happened to me, I gently but firmly brushed that area of my tongue (gagging my way through it), rinsed my mouth/tongue with an antiseptic mouth wash (and letting a little bit of the mouthwash trickle down my throat), and started using Biotene spray numerous times a day. PLUS I really upped my water intake. It only happened the one time since I've just learned to always be drinking water throughout the day. I think it only lasted 2-3 days ... but I'll NEVER forget it! Good luck to you. You won't die from it. I'm living proof!!!

Same thing happened to me last summer... I got on a berry smoothie kick. After several days I noticed my tongue was turning blackish... Its because you're mouth is dry from the vaping. As said above.. mega BIOTENE and scrub the heck out of your tongue when you brush. I guarantee it will improve, but it may take a few days

I think it was dye or colouring from some of my darker colored liquids. Didn't hurt, wouldn't scrape off - just looked funny...

Stayed for a few days and is gradually fading away as I've been avoiding the darker liquids (read dark chocolate and/or coffee).

I'm going to try to make sure my liquids don't have artificial dye or coloring in them from now on!
(Either that or stop chain vaping so much! NAH!)

My mom gets that black tongue thing from drinking red wine (she also drinks a lot of coffee), I'm not sure that would be the same thing, but it seems like a similar problem. Her doctor told her it isn't dangerous, just a stain. She rinses with hydrogen peroxide a few times a week which seems to work pretty well to get rid of it.
