i bought some juice that i think needs to be steeped and was wondering if i let my juices breath ( caps off ) for say 3 days or a few days will this be a bad thing?

my logic is that if i breath them overnight it will possibly steep faster due to oxidation but then it could also alter the flavor and ruin the nicotine. i didn't base this on hard facts obviously lmfao.

it vapes smooth just lacking flavor. i have tried this juice before but on a different ration i think 50/50 and it was great but this one is 70/30 and i have read so many great reviews and some saying they steeped it. i was told to only breath for less then 12 hours and steep with caps on after that.

On my DIY, I mix into a large beaker and let it sit uncovered with an occasional stir for about 6-8 hours before bottling it. My theory is to get the aromas off the juice before sealing it so the blended flavors are smoother not harsh. It will probably work for your juice too if it has a strong scent.

Leave the lid on. The juice will come of age. If it is just fruity it wont take long. If it is creamy it could take a few weeks from the time it was mixed. Breathing the juice for 3 days could lead to a major reduction in flavor. I let a batch breath on a magnetic stir plate overnight and it lost all scent and flavor. I always steep with the bottles sealed now.

This is going way back old school.

1) Receive Liquid in mail
2) Shake and agitate very thoroughly
3) Remove cap and if plastic with a nipple tip, remove nipple, let air in a cool, dark place for 24hrs
4) Replace nipple and cap, shake and agitate regularly the next couple days, again in a dark cool place
5) Day 3 to 5 shake and agitate like once every 12hrs
6) Day 6 to 10, shake and agitate once a day
7) Test liquid in a dripper, it should have matured enough by now to start to blend
8) Shake every couple days, every week drip a sample, you'll notice the liquid mature and blend getting closer toward its true flavor, by days 28 to 33 the liquid should be matured, rich, and flavorful. If at any time during test sampling you get florally, pot-pauree, or perfume type of flavor, let the liquid air without cap and nipple again for a few hours until it vanishes.

dayum 28 days that's a long time to be steeping. hopefully it will mature in a few days it's a fruit punch flavor. I'm hoping it doesn't take long really have nothing to vape as far as juice goes. I'm expecting my other 2 juices from the same vendor to not be steeped as well. I really should start stocking up on some juices and steeping for occasions like this

Steep on
Air off
Fruit Flavors loose flavor Fast to evaporation - caution.
Alcohol Based Flavors need some Air time - not a lot.

Steeping is a Process of allowing full integration of flavor molecules with Base This happens over time and is different depending on Flavoring and amount of flavor.

Visit the E-liquids DIY forum for excellent advice and guidance.

28 to 31 days or more are for more complex flavors, example a caramel, vanilla, creamy or milk chai tea flavor, a lot going on here, the vanilla and caramel are rich, about 2 weeks for them, but add a cream or milk tone for a creamy texture, takes a while for the vanilla and caramel to meld well with it. A fruit punch, if it smells perfumey or pot porea it might need just a little breathing of 12 to 24hours, then a day or two steeping. Its a bit subjective on a per flavor basis, but for instance Mt Baker Vapor, they mix it fresh per order, then ship it so it will need the whole breathing and steeping to age it like a very fine wine, at least they used to we will say, most other larger name vendors will have batches that sit on shelves at their warehouse to go through the steeping process before being shipped out. The FDA regs that just hit, every juice manufacturer will have to steep 28 to 31 days before shipping is allowed, or so I have taken from the regs released today.

yea that is how I steep my current juice cap on I don't let it breath any it's pretty harsh. gives me a headache. when I was more into DIY I would breath and steep but now I'm so lazy since I only have 2 flavors and feel discouraged because my juice is terrible lmao. once I get more money I am probably going to buy smaller juices and try out various mixes. I have very little patience for steeping
