I've been vaping for a couple of weeks now. At first I was still smoking, but I changed to WTA a few days ago and have had 2-3 cigarettes per day since.

Today was different. I couldn't suck vapor fast enough, and it wasn't satisfying the urge to smoke. Clean vaporizer, brand-new coil, and it just wasn't working. I'm not sure how much juice I went through. I'm not sure how to estimate it very well.

And then . . . I threw up. Maybe this is from vaping too much? I don't feel nicotine-overdosed, so I don't think it's like the cliche of the father who makes the kid smoke until he throws up. I've been vaping pretty darn heavily in general, and never even slightly felt like vomiting.

I don't feel sick in any other respect, so I don't think I'm just plain ill.

What's up with me? Has this happened to anyone else?

Why do I want to vape and/or smoke so badly, so much more so than on previous days?

What's with the puking? Should I vape less, smoke more real cigarettes to keep the urge under control?

Well since it is a steam type delivery you may have got residual residue that made its way to your stomach while chain vaping and your stomach decided to reject it

That makes a little more sense.

Maybe I'll just go lie down for a while . . . aargh. Want nicotine.

I have found that when I go crazy and speed-vape 24mg, the nicotine can make the esophagus act up, like it gets confused. It's not like nausea, but I have sometimes felt it could cause throwing up if I'm not careful, so I try to slow down. As for the killer urge to smoke, I think you have to be careful about how you think about switching from smoking to vaping--vaping should win because it is better and you like it more, not because you forced yourself to not smoke.

I have been vaping and smoking for quite a while now. It is a slow process for me, but I think vaping is winning. For a while, I thought I needed WTA liquids, but when I used it I noticed absolutely no difference for me than when I used regular liquid. So long as you're getting enough nicotine from vaping, I think the whole craving for smokes thing is a mental condition because we did it for so long. It takes some time for the subconscious mind to catch up with your new method of nicotine delivery.

How much did you smoke on analogs. I was a 2+ PPD for 35+ years and I started with 24mg/ml. If you aren't getting the nic level high enough you will fog like a train. The residual will build up from that as stated. I also found that I needed to keep busy doing something. Keeping my mind and hands occupied! This slowed me down too. Once you get off the analogs completely you will be able to regulate the nic intake with more precision. If your goal is to drop the analogs completely, then go ahead and up the nic level and stay with vape strictly. Hopefully you will find this works for you. Try some tea with honey or sugar to settle the stomach right now. That works great! Keep after it and hope you feel better soon. :headbang:

Throwing up sounds like too much nicotine to me... Who knows though. Getting over the feeling that you are missing something by not smoking is the hardest part of quitting smoking. This is why the patch and gum are not that satisfying. It isn't only about the nicotine.

There is a mental side to the impulse to smoke that has much to do with how satisfying vaping is.

Finding the right juice/setup for you is an important step in replacing smoking with an e cigarette.

Every cigarette that is replaced is a victory.

Once you find what works for you the transition will be easier.

So . . . more real cigarettes, and less vaping?

When the craving is so strong, it's hard to vape any way other than with strong sucking.

Are you vaping PG or VG or a blend? What nicotine%? Is the eliquid a flavor and brand you've had before? Do you notice any bad taste? I got a 100%VG once and they added too much ethyl alcohol to it. I could've puked if I would've kept vaping it. Instead, I'm letting it sit a week with the lid off. But the alcohol issue also had a horrible flavor.

It takes longer for the nicotine to get in your system using an ecig vs a cigarette. You might try a stronger nic juice when the cravings start and less when you are doing okay. I had, and many people do, boost the nic to get over that “hump” when you first quit but do be aware there is a lag time for it hit your system. Unfortunately everyone is different and there is no one size fits all, just a lot of trial and error.

I had a terrible time switching, took over three months and I was pretty determined to quit cigarettes, but around here the only cigarettes that count are the ones you don’t smoke. Slow down and experiment to find what works for you. It’ll work out in the end.

As mentioned in prior posts I too experienced nausea and stomach upset early on in my vaping experience. I had to learn when to stop vaping. It wasn't/isn't like smoking a cigarette. There's no .... remaining to let you know you're done so I'd end up nauseous or wanting to retch. I also smoked while vaping. My only guess would be too much nicotine. I also got mild headaches prior to the upset stomach. I started out at 18mg of nicotine and dropped it to 16mg which helped tremendously, my smoking analogs also decreased during this time so I wasn't receiving as much nicotine. Reducing the nicotine allows you to vape more which is what I needed but without the side effects. Hope you find a fix to your dilemma...let us know what works for ya!

I have 24mg WTA and 30mg nic-only. Lately I've just been using the WTA; it's clearly providing something the nic-only isn't. This might be partly due to the high VG -- 80& VG in this particular blend.

I've vaped all of these flavors before with no issues.

I still feel a little queasy, but better.

Something was clearly different today, but I have no idea what. I've vaped exactly the same juice from that exact same bottle. I think I was pulling too hard and too often, as others have suggested.

I think maybe I'll take a nap or something.

I was in high school late in the 1960's and worked in the tobacco fields as a summer job. The first day there I got my clothes soaked in tobacco juice. Those tobacco leaves are very juicy. It happened to my best friend too, who was also working his first day. By the end of the afternoon we were both on our knees hurling out behind the tobacco barn. Didn't bother us the second day.

Vaping is NOT smoking. You can't suck on it like you can a cig. Calmly and gently puff gently and allow the vapor into your mouth, wait a second and then inhale. Most of the nic is absorbed through your mouth, nose and throat. Very little actually makes it to your lungs. It is like getting drunk, both whiskey and beer will do it but it takes beer longer and more of it to finish the job.

You need a strong enough nic content to keep the cravings away. The whole point of vaping is to keep those cravings for cigarettes away.
What type of gear are you using? And what ejuice and nic strength? You may need a pv that will deliver a strong hit, and an ejuice that is high enough to get it done. WTA's are for the vapers when all else fails.

:)
edit. sorry --I was typing and didn't see your latest post until I submitted.

If vaping only the WTA ejuice and not what you originally were, then maybe go back to the one without the WTA and see if that helps. Maybe only use the WTA's when you feel like smoking?
