Throat hit

I'm new to vaping.

I recently bought an eGo C Twist. Prior to this Ive used Blu and V2, which use cartridges. This is the first time ive used e liquid. I bought some at a local vape shop. I bought 24mg and noticed that the throat hit is VERY harsh. I used to smoke 2 packs of marb reds a day, and i was shocked that i would consider anything harse, but this almost felt like a cigar. Is this because i am using a better battery (the ego) or is it bc the e liquid just packs a bigger punch? One more question for you more experienced, i understand about mouth/throat inhale, but after drawing into the mouth do u guys find yourselves inhaling like a cigar or cigarette? I really enjoy the inhalation aspect of smoking, perhaps i should scale back to 12 mg?

At 2PPD the 24 shouldn't be that harsh! That's where I started. I found it to be the perfect place to start. It provided enough nic to chase the jitters away and wasn't too harsh. I used a eGo vv2 with it and was able to adjust the voltage to keep it cool for a while. It also depends on the flavor too. If you are using a tobacco flavor (as asked previously) this may be the issue. These can be a little rough at any nic content. I personally found that the tobacco flavors just didn't make the cut. They weren't anything like the tobacco I was used to and tasted awful. Minty flavors seem to work better as they actually taste like they are expected to. My :2c:

I'm not even sure what a throat hit is... ? Burning of the throat during inhale? I get a burning sensation using 18mg tobacco flavor in a cheap tank setup on my (what I think is a) Joye 900mah battery (it's branded fumigo). When I use a 18mg citrus flavor (different brand e-juice) in my clearomizer I don't experience any burning.

guess im a baby!! im going to play around with the dosage and flavors... i told the guy at the store i smoked marb reds and he directed me to this specific flavor... its probably a strong blend, experimenting with the flavors and strengths should be no biggie as my budget is already shrinking drastically, i didnt realize that the flavor had such an impact on throat hit, thank u

If you came from Blu's then anything will seem harsh. Those things are like 13-16mg nicotine and the weak auto battery probably cut you off before you could get a good hit.

They say, 24mg is about right for ex-Full Flavor smokers. (Who the hell "they" is I do not know). Vapor inhaling is different than fire sticks. The nicotine is absorbed more in the mouth than the lungs. I inhale into my lungs like I did when I smoked just for the familiar throat hit Then I slowly exhale through my nose.
