The Tesla Nano 60W TC

I got the new Tesla Nano 60W TC. Here are some quick thoughts and some size comparisons....

This thing is pretty sweet. It's surprisingly heavy considering how small it is though. I realize it has a large battery, but it and it's 3600 mAh battery is noticeably heavier than the istick 50 and it's 4400 mAh battery.

I would say it's built like a tank considering it's heft, except that it has slight rattle of only the down button. Since that's one thing reviewers always mention, you'd think companies would start making sure there is zero rattle, but it's minor at least. The up/down buttons adjust in .5 increments.

The ergonomics of the device were really well thought out, which I didn't appreciate until I held it. It's really really comfortable in the hand. If you fire with your thumb, your palm sits nicely in the cutout for the display and three fingers comfortably grip the rounded backside while your pinky rests on the bottom corner, which is cut away. I wondered when seeing the pictures if that bottom corner being cut out was just for looks, but it's not. If the that corner was just squared off, it wouldn't be nearly as comfortable.

I vape around 40 watts give or take and knew I needed a battery about this size to get me through a whole day, but wanted a compact package. I'm very happy I got it.

I dropped a Crown with a .25 ohm coil on it to take it for a spin. So far here are my thoughts.

• About the size of the iStick 50W but it has a little more weight
• The overall finish of the device it pretty nice, buttons are clicky and firm with no rattling
• The screen is bright and easy to read
• The menu is simple to navigate
• Overall it feels good in my hand, it will be a stealth device for sure
• As someone mention the 510 is a little suspect. When you start to screw a atty on it's a little sloppy. You get some wobble. The deeper the 510 connection gets seated into the device it gets better. I will have to be careful when putting a topper on this device. I've been told it's chrome plated brass so be careful for cross threading.
• The coil came in at .23 on this device. On my meter and two other devices it came in at .26
• I don't notice any delay when I hit the fire button.

If the 510 holds up this is a decent little device for the price point. My camera sucks (or my picture taking skills) but here is a shot of the device in hand.

Hmmmm, I'm trying to think how to describe it as I sit here clicking it so i'll say it a couple different ways. The up and down buttons have a solid feel with a nice and slight metallic click. I'd say the fire button is just as quiet as my iStick 50 and quieter than the iStick 30 or 40, yet a more solid feel with a duller sound than the up/down buttons. I think they did a good job on the feel of the buttons, great tactile feedback, but you can't please everyone.

Hey thanks a lot for posting that, Marc. I looked all over for the past week for reviews, here, Google, Youtube... couldn't find anything. I can't believe I missed yours. I struggled hard between the blue and the stainless. Yours looks great and I may pick one up. Seeing it in your hand perfectly shows what I meant with where my fingers and pinky sit.

You seem to have had the same experience as me except got lucky enough to have zero rattle. That's good to know. I don't have a delay on the fire button either though my Surefire does a little. Mine seems to be reading resistance in line with my other devices but I haven't checked it against a meter.

Also, I agree about about the 510 threads. I didn't take a picture of that, but it's interesting how the top of the threads sit recessed in a bowl shape which make it feel a little odd when you start threading a tank on, or just as it's finished unthreading. Not a biggie though since it makes a great connection and tanks sit more flush on it than on any of my other devices (as long as it holds up). Maybe that's why they shaped it like that? I found a picture of what I mean so I'll post that below....

2 amp charging is a huge plus for me.
I've got quite a few 2A chargers (from iPads, UE Booms, etc.) that will put that feature to use nicely.
Looks like I'll have to order one soon.

Got mine in the mail today about half-charged and topped it off with the inline USB meter.... I've no doubt this thing will reach the full 2 amps of charging current when the battery's closer to being drained.

No button rattle and almost no sound pressing the fire button. Pretty happy so far. I have fairly large hands, and I'm finding that I'm most comfortable firing it with the middle of my index finger, and swallowing up the entire mod with my hand.

Hmm, been looking at these too. Am looking around for a backup for my Istick 50.

The thread thing worries me a little, but it looks a lot like something I could really use.

I have tiny hands and if the Istick was any bigger it would not be my fave for working.

I think with small hands you'll find it more comfortable using the Nano than the iStick50, whether you fire it with your index finger or your thumb. Firing with my index (trigger) finger always came more naturally for me than my thumb, which is why I loved using the iStick50. The Nano is a little heavier, but I find its shorter height makes it more pocket-friendly than the iStick50. The weight isn't a deal-breaker in a pair of Levi's 505's. No skinny jeans here...

So far I've only tried my Lemo2 with a 0.8 ohm clapton coil in it and it seems pretty accurate vape-wise. I'll check voltages with a few different atties eventually.

I use my thumb, but that shouldn't matter. I just don't have a lot of time to think about how I vape at work. I just need it to work, lol.

I think of it as a high standard: not a lot of mods are up to firing away all day with any atty you pop on it with zero attention or pampering, lol.

If I get one, I'll let everyone know how many falls, spills, etc. it can take.

I just saw a video review on youtube that shows much more of a gap between the mod and tank than mine and a fire button that's much more clicky than mine - for what it's worth.

I've only owned mvp20 watts and 3.0 before so not much too compare with, but wonderful leather wraps for the mvp20 watts that I own aside, I like it most from these.

Heavy but I like that, guess I'm used to those 20s (I own four 'cos of that leather wrap I mentioned).

So to me seems like an excellent mod at very decent price.

I have 2 of those leather sleeves as well. Had them for 2 years. They keep me using my MVP20's even though I own a lot of other newer mods. Just so comfortable in your hand.

Did it come from sillynilly on etsy Ian? She makes some fantastic sleeves...doesn't seem to list the nano 60w as a mod she provides for...yet!

Yes, they came from Etsy. I have one for my VTR and my MVP3.0 as well. She makes terrific products but they are expensive. When mods were expensive, you could justify the cost but now the sleeve costs more than the mod!!! If you want one, you should email her and ask about it.

I guess she has to make a living. Don't think a factory in China (or anywhere else for that matter) could make such a quality product. Worth paying for the individual aspect etc b good point re. Costing more than mods!

Think mine is already playing up.

Started with fire button stopping working whilst firing, in and off, would work then not. Not a short circuit.

Also when putting on a 0.9ohm coil on first press of fire button, despite wattage being set really low, it would for a second frazzle the coil.

Now it's randomly switching off, sometimes it won't switch back on for 5 mins approx. I'm vaping at 12-18 watts on mainly >1ohm coils, so not overheating protection.

Almost impossible to get it into select wattage or temp control modes, the selection just doesn't work most of time.

Not sure whether to take it back and exchange for new one or just go with the coolfire 4 plus instead. I don't use temp control...though was considering giving it a try.

How's everyone else getting on with there ones?
