Hi,

I received my nano 120W today and I’m impressed with the build quality.
The only problem I have is that when I’m using it on tc mode and locked my resistance to, let's say, 0,26 ohms, then turn off the device using the switch and back on, the locked resistance is not the same. It goes to 0,28 or more. I understand that the hot resistance is higher than the resistance at 20 Celsius, but I have to manually set the resistance back to 0,26 after turning the device on again, every time. If I do nothing, the fire is much more powerful than before turning it off, because the mod thinks that the locked resistance is the base resistance at 20 C.
If there was a way to lock the fire button without turning the device off, it would solve the problem, at least for me, as I would turn it off fewer times. But without it, every time I put it in my pocket I’m afraid that the device will fire and I must turn it off for safety.
I’m sure it’s not only the displayed resistance that changes because it goes to a much higher temperature after turning off and on than before it.
Is there a software update to correct it?
Am I doing something wrong here?
Just one more thing, I checked the scratch code and the mod is original.

Thanks.

Guilherme

Thanks, but the memory mode saves the temperature, the mode and the Wattage. But it doesn’t save the locked coil resistance.
Any other idea?

The

I thought that memory mode saved everything in your current settings. It seemed like a good suggestion and sorry it didn't work for your problem. I find that coil resistance fluctuates sometimes and resetting it is pretty simple. Maybe someone else has a better answer. Good luck!

No problem, thanks anyway.
The problem is that when the coil is hot, the resistance is higher. When I turn off and on again with less than 10 minutes or so, the new resistance the mod uses to calculate the desired resistance to achieve the set temperature is higher too, then the temperature get too high (risking a dry burn).
That’s a flaw and I hope some firmware upgrade corrects it.

No

I looked on the TeslaCigs website and there is no firmware update for the Nano Steampunk. I am stumped. I hope you can get an answer.

It is a well known issue about the resistance not saving but ime I never lock the resistance in TC. My reasoning is I want the mod to read the resistance constantly which gives a more accurate power setting no matter how hot or cold the coil is. I hope that makes sense.:)
I have been eyeballing this mod since it came out.I think I am going to grab one because this price is fantastic with the THANKS15 coupon code. $33.69

I agree with you, I like the mod reading the resistance. But it’s annoying when you change batteries with the atty hot, you have to set the previous value manually.

Because when the coils are hot, like when you’re using and the batteries run out of charge, the resistance is higher than the base resistance at 20 degrees Celsius. And when you change the batteries, the base resistance is read again, the mod being “told” that the resistance read is the base resistance. When you fire, the mod will seek a much higher resistance than before changing the batteries for the same temperature. Let’s give an example. I lock the resistance at 20 degrees Celsius at 0,33 ohms. Then, when I set the temperature in tc for 200 degrees Celsius, the resistance goes to 0,39 ohms. I keep vaping till the batteries die. Then I change the batteries and the mod reads 0,39 ohms as the base resistance when I turn the mod on again. It will calculate that if the mod has a base resistance of 0,39 (and the mod thinks that the temperature is 20 degrees), that the resistance at the desired temperature should be 0,45 ohms. And it seeks for this resistance delivering power to the coils. This makes the real temperature at the coils to achieve a much higher value than before changing the batteries, risking a dry burn.
If the cold resistance could be locked at 0,33, the mod would search for the 0,39 ohms at 200 degrees Celsius every time, even when changing the batteries.
Was I clear about the problem?

Thats my point though. Why would you set the resistance to something its not?Let the mod adjust the temperature using an accurate real time resistance. It will test resistance everytime you fire it.:)
Bra wise it

Sorry I was given some bad information on how TC actually works.I have been doing alot of reading on the subject and have learned not all chips do TC in the same way. Not sure why the Tesla does not keep the locked resistance in memory but I agree that sucks. :(
Luckily I don't use TC very often.

No problem at all my friend.
It could be easily solved by a firmware upgrade. But unfortunately this device is not upgradable. It has no usb to do it. What I can do is just use it the way I can, not the way I was supposed to be able to. It’s very disappointing. I’ll be aware next time and don’t buy Tesla mods again.

Anyone have any information on the coils that come with the kit tank, E8. 15 ohms and E2. 4 ohms, not any info in the manual i. e. kanthal or what? Waiting for my engine nano so want to fire it up tonight and don't want to burn out the coil as I don't know if the mod will automatically read the type?

Edit: Kanthal coil read it right away, took a few vape to bring to full flavour. The. 4@25 watts, air open 3/16", nice vape for me. I usually build my own coils but there will be times, camping n fishing trips, that drop in coils will be handy. I don't mind this tank it's just too bad it's not colour matched to mod.

Will you use it in power mode? If so, don’t worry. Just select power mode and use the Wattage that is written in the body of the coil.
