Yeup, I agree , james, the locking ring is ELAs "Achilles" heel. It gets very , very dirty. Im my case I have to clean it daily. I dont know why mine get so dirty. Probably from heavy usage, I mean heavy. I change out batteries so many times a day. I go thru 16 mls a day, at least. When I use mine in the 350 mode, it performs much better. I cant figure out why, maybe my tele tube is wearing? I can see a mark where the locking ring sits when in 490/500 mode. Ive been using my first one for almost a year ( 9 months)

I have a somewhat similar technique that I find works. Adjust top cap and pin to atty and when inserting the top tube, keep turning it slowly as I tighten the locking collar - helps to seat it. No issue with voltage drop as long as I remember to do that.

After having the ELA for a pretty good while now, I would suggest that most of the voltage drop issues are tied to the locking mechanism. It gets dirty pretty quickly, and it's the only Super T part that I clean on a fairly regular basis (every two weeks or so). Cleaning it really helps. Also, it helps to lock the device down pretty tight. I do this by unscrewing the top cap about half a turn before sliding the tube down and locking it. I then tighten the top cap that last half turn to get a good, tight lock on the battery. With that setup, the voltage drop is pretty low. I'm not a professional voltage tester like some ecig users, but I can tell a difference when I set it up this way.

The battery may somehow be getting past the o-ring in the bottom. If it is just a hot button, no, but if it autofires then it is past the o-ring. Adjusting the center pin shouldn't be shorting the atomizer often (preferably never). As sturdy as the center pin assembly is - I don't know how the battery would really move it - I think it would crumple the battery before moving the center pin (I have some top dented batteries that...well...attest to this).

I come to the conclusion that batteries vary in size. I have noticed that when I change out a battery that I many times have to readjust the tube and the top center pin slightly. I can use 2 batteries and pop in another and then start getting a hot button. I take it apart and do the adjustments and no hot button. I suppose if one is a bit longer it shoves the battery up to the center pin just a tad too tightly.

Has anyone else noticed anything like this?

Hi SuperT fans I have an issue I purchased an ELA second hand which came with an extra set of SS accent rings. I tried to install them on the ELA and the bottom ring will not screw in all the way have tried WD40, washing etc with no luck.
Anyone have an issue like this and Ring ELA.jpg What do you recommend?

What do you mean dirty? It might oxidize a little being Aluminum, but mine is also 9 months old and still functions perfectly..I doubt your Stainless Steel telescopic tube is wearing... Now on to the big question, how in the heck are you vaping 16ml a day? Are you sure your not drinking the stuff ???

I just recently changed out my ring. I don't really think it needed to be changed. Just wanted to. :)

I am an ELA slob. My ELAs have had slight wipe downs. They never had a bath. :( But, I swear, they are not dirty. :)

I don't know how many ml I vape a day. Just curious, does anyone know how many ml go into a KFL? I never measured it.

I embarrassed to say, that I go thru an average of 8mls a day per ELA. Thats why I had to go the DIY direction. I drip my good tobaccos and go thru very little that way.

I think I do too. I don't think I totally fill my KFLs. When right-sided, they are filled to just slightly above the window. On my next fill, I will measure the juice. I typically go through two KFLs a day. Hmm..

I don't know why everyone does'nt DIY. cheaper and you can make juice as good if not better than you can buy(in most cases), & it is so cool when you come up with one of your ADV's. Avid, how do you measure your ingredients? Drops, syringes? I have converted to measuring by weight with a gram scale & it couldn't be easier. Also a a lot more accurate & less messy.

I really dont get too accurate. I make up two basic flavours. Main one is peppermint, real light. I get 100mg nic liquid and dilute it to a 6mg base of 50/50 PG-VG base, pour it in a 120ml bottle ( 100ml) and add 1.5 ml of Peppermint from TFA. The other is same base and add 3ml of half strawberry and pineapple with about 3 or so drops of Koolada for the cool feel. I have been making the flavours lighter and lighter each time. Im finding lately everything has too much taste. I will probably end up with no flavour eventually and saving more money and time.

I would need thousands of dollars worth of equipment and materials to DIY the juice I like.

Pretty much all I've vaped for two years is Aroma Ejuice's WTA juice, mostly a flavored one called G. I. Joe. Recently he (Jerry Green) has ramped up and refined production to the point he can sell unflavored 24mg WTA, it is phenomenal straight.
I've been to his lab twice; it takes considerable time, equipment and chemistry skill to extract nicotine and the minor alkaloids to the standard he sets.
