The rates are more than ridiculous. %7.95 per transaction. Highest rates even in the "high-risk" end of processing providers. Impossible to get a business in the green if you're paying your processor nearly $50 per month (more expensive than PayPal), a cent rate per transaction, plus a percentage. I would not recommend anyone interested in starting a business or becoming a supplier to use these guys. You're better off accepting checks by mail.

i have sent you an email to the address about needing a new merchant account/payment processor provider but i haven't received any email back in 24hours. they were only basic questions so thought i should hear back from you regarding this matter. if you could check your emails and get back to me i would appreciate it.

Just wanted to make a few comments for new e-cig vendors pulling up this info on merchant accts/payment processors. All "electronic cigarette and accessory" vendors are considered high-risk, just because of the regulations that are imposed on the industry. It is not just Painless Processing that charges these rates--in fact, PP seems to be one of the few that will still accept ecig vendors at all. Many of the other merchant acct & payment processing providers you will find mentioned in these (older) threads no longer accept any new ecig vendors.

When seeking MA/PP, rates of 7.95% aren't all that shocking. In fact, I've seen rates listed up to 20% with way more than $50 in monthly fees. Evidently, ecig vendors get lumped into the 'high-risk group' with debt collectors, adult video sites, online dating site, software download sites, nutritional supplements, and border-line scam artists (get-rich-quick stuff). I was told these groups are designated high-risk because they have disproportionate amounts of chargebacks and fraudulent activities occurring.

Of course, your rates largely depend on your personal credit, if you have a physical location, if you are start-up, etc. I just wanted to mention that the people at Painless Processing were very courteous to me and that there rates were actually comparatively good to other options. I do not like it anymore than anyone else, but don't shoot the only messengers that will still come to your neighborhood.
